Trigger Tyme - 4/24/2010

Post by SteevoLS » Sun Apr 25, 2010 8:02 am

I had a great time out there yesterday. Since Diesel couldn't show, we had to adapt and run smaller games. The turnout was small due to the rain, but ~20 guys still managed to have a good time. It was great to see a bunch of new guys out there, along with some familiar (but long absent) faces like 3rdOptik.

And...

I discovered I can hit a coffee-can sized target at 300' with the Winchester. ???

It was fun, had a great time running with Raymond.  Sorry I had to dip out early.  That kid that showed up and borrowed a gun, is he a member?  Big ups to his parents bring Gatorades back to the field!

Also Red, you took the gauntlet pretty good.... I still had a few more mags for you.

Excellent day of airsofting despite the early morning rain. Too bad there were NO bravo there and we had to use orange tape to tell the teams apart.  ;D

had a good time, i love rain games. the rain allowed me to setup a couple one man ambushes. i do wish more people had showed but, over all it was good game.

Great games! Thanks to everyone that showed and put this together, big thanks to Mojo and Dom for setting up some nice objectives. Everyone played awesome, man Zac and Ray, flank masters! I have never been safe killed from behind, Raymond big props on that, im sure you enjoyed keeping me on the run all day. Sorry I was so rusty out there, off the rip I twisted my ankle bad, one of those that makes you nausious, but still, had to run run run lol..

The second to the last game I really enjoyed, when we where pinned down surrounded and being squeezed, pretty intense, opposition kicked major donkies there..

oh, the grenade launcher to the face as I pulled the trigger on the mac 11 with no report ( put in the wrong mag, arrggg ). never been hit with one of those up close..

And Red you played great man, props!

Dom, pretty lethal with that DMR of yours, now your more dangerous than ever..

Great show of skill and stealth fellas, cant wait to roll with you guys again..

M203's are fun up close, I got a group of guys on a death run.  That happened because Raymond had everybody running!

"Raymond" and "running" are typically synonymous, yes. :D

And Steevz.. Love the rifle man, that gun is going to be sick when your done with it.. I want one!

Oh forgot a small highlight when we where at the tree house waiting to start.. those little carolina birds are awesome, after a slight discussion on how easy it would be to shoot one.. One landed on Red as a peace offering, incredible.. They where all over the tree house area.. ( sorry I dig animals, lol.. )

Now:

Then:

That's what I'm aiming for in the end, and I think it's a very realistic goal. The way mine is now, it looks like a .30-30. I'd like to change out the outer barrel (and add about 1' of inner barrel) and make it look more like the .44 1892 pictured above.

Normal Winchester chrono'd on Sat: ~515 with .30s (thought it was .25s, but I was wrong!).
Winchester + 1' longer barrel + one-piece no-leak gas chamber: Probably 600+ with .30s. :o
