Assassination of a world leader - AAR

Post by 3rd0ptik » Sun Jun 27, 2010 4:12 pm

Just got back to Atlanta, pretty tired, will write more later, but for now..

I would like to thank everyone for coming out and making this a great game. I know the heat was nasty and I feel for Bravo that delt with being in it so long, I know they had it worse than Alpha since we took the woods and held them for so long..

Big fun running with WAR, you guys handle business as always, thank you for running with Alpha!

Rayne, had a great time running with Jamal again, he's turning out to be a good player, cant wait for the next one..

Aircross that came out, thanks for holding it down out there, you know what it is..

Garrett, I know your beat and havent had time to do the numbers, but as soon as you do, let us know who won this thing.

The later day small games were awesome! loved it when the 97 ran out of battery power and had to crawl through the tall dry grass, mad fun, and using my hands, priceless!  :o

And Swat, aka Latex, how is your foot man, sorry that happened to you..

Anyhow I know people have mad stories, so when the heat wears off we should get to the formal post game re-caps!

See you guys soon!

Alpha CO - AAR

Recon Intel indicated that an American fighting force landed a few clicks beyond the ravine and was mobilizing for an assault. Alpha units quickly dispersed and made for the ridge. A full force b-lined for the forward command post to secure the position as well as take positions in the upper ridge bunker and secure the ridge line for incoming contact. A second special forces unit, made haste to the lower ridge bunker while a small unit of three secured the lower creek forward command.

As we made our way up the creek line we spotted bravo units a few hundred feet in front of us taking position behind a smaller ridge. SF' unit started to engage the enemy from the bunker and ridge top and the enemy started to take casualties. Our three man unit started picking off bravo troops as they retreated, and others entering the battle. We continued to move forward, take positions, fire and move forward to catch up with our SF unit. Many bravo took positions behind large trees on a hill with about a 60 degree slope, they were pinned and we outranged them, the Chinese Type 97 proved to be an efficient long range weapon.

The SF team started to push down the ravine and up the hill towards the smaller ridge as the enemy was breaking down, War led the way up the hill and we quickly followed as we felt the opportunity to crush the enemy was an absolute. The SF unit took a few casualties, superficial wounds and with medic Rayne on hand, they were quickly back in the fight.

We began to throw smoke for cover and followed with a few grenades over the hill and down the tree covered slope. Leader of the SF unit provided valuable Intel as to the enemies location beyond the hill. Our 3 man unit flanked left down the slope and took out the bravos in the area. The entire location was secured for the moment. We made our way from there to secure the final command area that bravo forces were using. SF split into two units, one right one left and we squeezed the bravos into submission.

At that moment Intel informed me of an objective, we didn't have time at that moment to receive the orders as more bravo respawned from their command, our forces did not secure the location, our team to the right took casualties, and we were trapped to the left, 1 of my 3 man unit, myself, and 1 from war were taken down from the front and rear.. We were stuck at that location until units could provide an evac..

More later..

Well...

I had a great time. Ran my VFC with a can and scope for the first time, and actually liked it. I might have to do that more often.

I really enjoyed running with Bravo, and I can definitely agree with your point about the heat. You Alpha scum with your shade and your trees...

I'm looking forward to another game at the farm... in the fall.

Ian: Thanks for the pizza!
Dominum/MudVayne: Had a blast as the spotter... we'll have to do that again.
Gman Chris + Big Bird: Great to meet you guys.

no problem Steevz, sorry we didnt have more for everyone..

and yeah it was dirty, felt if we kept bravo from crossing the ravine the heat would eventually take its toll, not very nice but effective..

check you guys later..

yeah, being stuck in the heat sucked.  Holding the forward respawn was great in that we didnt have to walk but maybe 30 ft to respawn, just was bad that it was in sun.

Was great running with bravo, putting faces to names, meeting new folks and remeeting old ones.  see you guys at white noise.

Alpha CO - AAR

Retrieving the Objective...

After a hydration and sustenance break I gathered my unit together once more, dubbed 3rd & Company ( Jams, Mulli & 3rd ) Along with other Aircross members & misc scattered team members we headed across the dry grassy plains toward the ridge of the ravine.. We had the objectives location and it was time to execute. Green ninja from War had taking position in the field with his classic Mere Cat offensive maneuver. He was popping at a few Bravos that took refuge behind a large tree. 3 man unit started to advance toward the enemies location as Ninja provided superior overwatch. Rayne and I headed a direct steady low B-line toward a large tree that covered our approach. Once at our tree I could see at least 2 Bravos were dead, but had medics. I took aim and started pounding at any enemies firing in our direction, easy hits. We started to take fire from the left, other team members handled the threat quickly.

Jams was not in the best location and wanted to fall back. I said no your OK, Then I was hit, I called for medic, Rayne quickly swept in and had me back in the fight. At that moment Rayne and Jams provided precise semi auto fire on Bravos location, I loaded the Mac-11 and was ready to finish this, with being hit once I had payback on my mind. I got low and moved swiftly to the enemies position, as I rounded their tree cover I was shocked to find a medic healing with his back turned, at nearly point blank I let off a small burst in his back.. Not over yet, I quickly moved forward to another tree Bravo was using, Possibly another medic healing, no time to chat and ask ID.. Put the Mac-11 to his back and yelled drop it, he surrendered and was able to fight another day.. I ran back to our original location to regroup. All bravos in the area were done. Excellent work team.

We made our way down the ravine into the cool shade and followed the path toward the old villager base located on the hill. As we descended into the creek bed 3 to 4 Bravos were taking offensive positions, at the time I was the only one who made it to adequate cover but still very shaky at best and I was still exposed. Immediately I took 2 out, aimed left and took down another, but there was one that was behind a perfect tree, ( 2 large tree's growing together with plenty of cover ) I only had a small "V" to hit him through. This enemy took out my whole team and I was left to fend for myself. After a long heated fogging battle, Ghost says were all dead over here, apparently I didn't hear the enemy call it..

I advance hard right to the fence line and made my way up in the field observing my work passing the downed bravo's.. I'm thinking this is going to be easy, all I have to do is follow the fence line all the way to the objective. As I'm crossing the exposed field, many Bravos to my left are paralleling my position to cut me off.. I move fast to the cover of trees, advancing very close to the objective, a Bravo pops up from a brush pile, I waste him, another comes to his aid and I start popping at him, possibly hit he retreats.. I kneel down and scan the sectors for field movement, nothing, but I know the other bravos shadowing me would be very close.

I turn to the left and my rival is there, the infamous Black Ghost.. We've had many encounters on the field of battle and is more than a worthy opponent, this will be no different. We start our exchange, from a pretty good distance. Were back and forth with my DMR I'm only allowed semi, he's running auto, I have to take a steady aim single shot under a hail of projectiles. This went on for several minutes, we would switch from left to right trying to outsmart each other in an airsoft chess match. I'm trying to anticipate when and were he will expose him self and already have a round in route while avoiding his swarm.

After more minutes pass another long range auto firing bravo steps in the fight, I am now in serious trouble, they have me covered from the right and left, if another one advances hard right from the field I'm done. I cant see where the new bravo is firing from, so I have to put my focus back on Ghost. As I do I catch him advancing closer to another tree, I step out exposed and try to take him down, he fires back I cover, no wins here.. More Bravo advance on me as I'm being surrounded, I can hear them now yelling loud to there team as to my location. My team members keep trying to get to my aid but are killed by the villager base multiple times. If I can get Ghost I have a chance, we start popping semi autos at each other, I feel the squeeze coming as I'm taking fire from multiple locations, I pull the Mac-11 out to load in case of a close threat, at that moment my fear is a reality, a bravo made his way over the field and sprayed into me, I swing left to cover and I am caught by Ghost, simultaneously taking fire from 3 positions, I call hit multiple times and the battle is over..

Way to go Bravo.. This kill was a high priority for them. As Ghost walks away he says, it took five of us to take you down, I guess that's a consolation prize for my diligence but being only 15 or 20 feet from my object was no comfort..

More to come..

I hope you don't mind, but I going to copy this and save it.  This will make a great book.

Loved the story, read it to my kids as if it was a book.  They loved it.

BTW you and your team did the dang thing.  Can't wait till next time 3rd.  There's nothing like a good ol' mexican stand-off with ya homeboy.

My version of the story: So yeah, I (Ian) went from Point A to Point B to capture the Prez. I saw a black dude, so I shot at him. He shot at me. I got shot at by a bunch of other dudes. I died.

Ian's version of the story: WAR AND PEACE

Remy's version of the story:
