Fort Prince, 7/9/11
Had a lot of fun. Personally this was my first time doing CQB, and I loved it. Small turnout, I think no more than 20, if that many. We ran a different style of game, which was a lot of fun. Kept the game moving. For the afternoon we did a hostage rescue game, then a couple of team assimilation games, all with pistols and shotties. Was hot as hell too.

The highlight was the pistols and shotguns team assimilation games.
We talked about the summer times where it would be a better idea to start a game from around 5pm where people could have an early dinner and it wouldn't be so hot outside starting. I'd suggest a game time of 5pm to 12am (or so) during the hot summer.

Game was a lot of fun, in spite of heat and low turnout. Those assimilation games should happen more, for sure.
The card system was interesting. For those not present, when you were shot, you drew out a playing card you got from respawn and held that up as your dead rag. While you held the card, you had a 2 min bleed out. If an enemy came up to grab your card, they got a point for their team and your bleed out dropped to 30 seconds. Good way of getting points for actually securing an area, and making plinking away at enemies pointless. I think it did a good job of keeping the game moving. Could work well with medics, too, I think, but we didnt use them this weekend.
Hell of a fun weekend. cqb is a hell of a lot of fun.

Yes both of those gametypes require you to move swiftly into an area; you will not benefit from camping. The assimilation especially requires the speed together as a squad, which is what most people like for cqb. Imagine how much more insane it would be with 2 8 person teams, and no 10 second heal time. Literally move as fast as possible toward your targets. Survival of the fittest.
C Taylor your stupid 3 person pistol kill left 2 nice marks on my side lol.

Was my first game, and I had a ton of fun. Big thanks to Dom for letting me borrow his pistol during the assimilation games. I really loved the assimilation games, every time it would be that two teams just hit head-on, creating one big team that just hunts. It really kept the action going ,with everyone looking for everyone else. Had some great firefights, especially when two large teams met head-on in the (cantina IIRC) area, fighting from above and below the stairs.

Well i have always wanted to kinda host a game and I was able to test out thanks to Dom. I had been thinking about the card idea for sometime and was finally able to test it. My main problem with games at Wellford was the games becoming a stalemate or one side completely dominating. So i thought of the card, no medic idea to see if it would keep the game moving back and forth and not one team being able to hold a key area for too long. Any comments and suggestions are greatly accepted. Also thanks for the warm welcoming to the new guys i brought to play. (the ones in ACU) Now for my AAR
So i had a blast. I love CQB and was very pleased by how easily the game flowed and how everyone obeyed the rules and called hits for the most part. I flat out rocked with my pistol. I had never played so aggressive at a CQB game before. But the consequence was 7 of the many shots i took, broke skin. Skywalker, Nice shooting at you again. I had some crazy shots at you with my pistol. All in all a great hot day of SC airsoft.
