Issues with my Socom Gear MEU...

Post by MCG » Sat Apr 03, 2010 7:38 am

Hey guys,

I'm having some mag issues with my new pistol. I got it in the mail yesterday, and ran out to give it a try. When I tried to fill the mag with gas, I couldn't get any gas into it. I could hear gas leaving the can, but very little if any was making it into the mag. Occasionally I did get the gas in, but it immediately shot out of the fill-valve as I was removing the green-gas nozzle.

I know it's not the gas I'm using, because I've tried two different brands of green gas and a propane adaptor.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
- Sam

Were you using propane or green gas?  And does the mag have a wilson combat mag bumper on the bottom?  With some of the we/socom gear/kwa mags need to use a long propane adaptor b/c green gas isn't long enough

I tried both propane and green gas, but neither seemed to really work. The mag does have the bumper, yes.

The Madbull propane adapter that I have seems long enough, but I could be wrong. Would dremeling the bumper down help?

Yes it would, take a small screw driver and make sure the fill valve is screwed all the way down.

i have the WE MEU which is basicly the same gun, and i have the same issue with one of my Mags. it leaks a lot. the bottom seems a little loose and im thinking that may be the issue. do you have another mag for it? it might have just come with a busted mag.

Yeah, the Socom Gear is the WE re-branded. I only have one mag, though, Socom Gear only sells it with one for some reason.

The mag-bumper on mine is loose, but I think I figured out the problem. I think it was with the gas I was using, not the mag.
