Saw Hopup

Post by rack0730 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 8:08 pm

I need help on replacing the nub in my saw. It is an A&K and I am not sure if I have the right kind of nub for it or not.

They have a built in nub, not a standard AEG nub. You should never have to install one.

Classic Army, A&K, and Echo1 M249s all use a nub that is removable. It goes in vertically instead of horizontally. I have seen them get knocked out of position if the hop-up was adjusted too far. I've never messed with a TOP or G&P one so I don't know about them.

G&Ps use a design similar to an AUG hopup chamber that can use standard AEG nubs, but rack does not own a G&P, or a TOP for that matter.

I didn't think that he did. It was more of a disclaimer just in case. Lol.

Understood ;).

So Rack, I think what we are basically wondering is, why do you need to replace the nub anyway? If you lost it somehow and have a new nub for it (not an AEG nub) then it is a very simple install and I can do it for you at a game.

Well the thing is I am going off to college in 2 weeks and won't be at any more games for a while. December or thanksgiving will be the next game I can go to so I need to do it myself. Oh yeah and I lost the nub. The hop up isn't broken or anything, everything works I just don't have a nub in.

You should be able to make one very easily, it's just a small plastic cylinder that you should be able to cut from something to replace it.
