Batteries not charging

Post by J2H » Tue Nov 30, 2010 4:22 pm

I have a Hitech IC battery charger and two 9.7 stick batteries.  I hooked both batteries to the charger, one goes steady red than flashes red, the other does nothing!

Did you mean a 9.6? I've never heared of a 9.7.... Anyway, is this charger a smart charger or a trickle charger? And what brand are the batteries?

Sorry its a 9.6... its a HiTec  (http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/Hitech_Smart_Battery_Charger_Discharger_p/00552.htm) and its both a smart and trickle charger.  The batteries are Intellect 3600s.

I have the same one hold the yellow discharge button for about 30-60 seconds.

If that doesn't work, flip around the settings until you get a solid green light.  Give it a minute or two, and then flip everything back to what it should be.  It seems that this "smart" charger has a problem detecting a battery with no charge.  Once the batter has just a little bit of charge, it'll detect it and do fine.

One battery fully charged, I think the other is beyond help... it won't even show ANY light when plugged in even when I move the settings around

I have this same charger, its a piece of crap. It seems the quick charge function 600 doesnt work properly and can fry your battery. I recommend only using the hi-tech charger on the 300 setting. It charges slower but I havnt had ANY issues since.
