Wiring question

Post by Villid » Thu Jul 07, 2011 10:40 am

On my ICS MP5, the gear box is rear wired, but the wiring end immediately at the back of the gearbox with a mini tamiya connector. Then through the solid stock, is another wire that converts it from mini to large tamiya. Ive been doing some experiments this morning and it seems like using the converter causes the gun to lose a large portion of its power and cuts its ROF by more than 1/3. Am i correct in beliving that using these converters, through the multliple connections is the primary cause of the reduced ROF?

And please, no comments about how i need to change my connectors. They are not productive towards my question.

This is interesting... Mainly because my brother's m14 was the same way when I took it apart. In theory I would agree with you about the lower rof as a result.

Simple solution: swap out for Deans, XT60s, Traxxas, whatever. Just stay the heck away from Tamiyas.

This I realize, but there is no other solution short of running a single piece of wire all the way out of the gearbox. The resistance is high enough on Tamiya connectors that they will always be a significant hindrance.
