Hey guys,
I've got a problem with my new SAW. I've had it for a few days, and put maybe 200 shots through it. This morning, I went out to dial in the hop-up, and the trouble started. When I pulled the trigger, absolutely nothing happened. The gearbox didn't make a sound at all. I can hear a slight clicking noise which I assume is from the trigger mechanism, but nothing else. I checked the wiring and fuse, which are both in tact, and also tried three different batteries. Anyone have any ideas here? I would really like to get it back on its feet for Saluda this weekend.
Thanks much,
- Sam

Re: A&K M249 Issue
Is there a way to check to see if the piston is stuck in the back of the gearbox? Is there any way of hitting the anti reversal latch like in a V2? I know their gearbox is completely different.
Were you using a drained battery when you shot it last?
On second thought, you might have your gun shorting out because of an exposed wire. Take out the motor from the hand grip and, while still plugged into the motor and battery, pull the trigger and see if the pinion gear spins.

Re: A&K M249 Issue
Esteban, the motor is not in the grip of a SAW, it is inside the gearbox. I appreciate you trying to help but if you are not familiar with the weapon, please let someone that is, give the advice, so he doesn't mess his gun up trying to remove a motor that isn't there. Thanks bud.
MCG, the trigger mechanism is nothing more than a snap action switch inside your gearbox, that has two spade type connectors on it, that the positive wire connects to. Even though it is inside the gearbox, the switch and the tabs can be seen without taking your gearbox apart. Check to make sure that your wires are connected to it. If they are not, just reconnect them to the top two tabs. It doesn't matter which one is on top and which one is on the bottom. Also, have you tried removing the spring and seeing if the gears would turn then? To remove the spring, remove the stock and back of the receiver, and you should see the back of your gearbox. Press in on the back of the Spring Guide, and pull up on the little tab that pops up on the top of the gearbox. Your spring should come right out. Let us know if this is the problem. If not, I would be happy to look at it Friday Night at Deep Scar.

Re: A&K M249 Issue
I was running off of the assumption that it was somewhat like the G&P SAW. A teammate and I ran into a grounding out problem with his and that's what we did to test his. After I posted, I remembered the gearbox in the A&K is of a different design.GrimWulf wrote: Esteban, the motor is not in the grip of a SAW, it is inside the gearbox.
