Re: Sniper Rifle
My idea of sniping is to camoflauge myself in a poition to cover a trail, objective, etc., and eliminnate small tropp movement and notify my commander of large troop or vehicular movement.
I do not always accidentally, but when I do, I accidentally the whole thing.
Re: Sniper Rifle
So get and build a quiet and lightweigh aeg. It's not like you need the range for recon at all.

I am a bit of a jerk.
There have been a lot of games since the last fatality. Roses are red, violets are blue, so is your car at 102

Re: Sniper Rifle
I could do that, except I want a sniper rifle or an LMG.

Re: Sniper Rifle
Alright then, just to demoralize this thread.
Lets do what you say.
Unique rifle: 200-400$. Lets say 300$
Upgrades for rifle: 400-600 depending on the rifle, lets go 400$
Externals: 200-300$. You need mags that dont rattle for +1 Sneak, a nice scope to see as far as your bb may travel and for scaning, and a bipod right? 300$
So for the rifle: 1000$ Easy.
Now, lets get all sniperful!
Ghillie wrap for rifle: 30-50$, plus 1 DIY Time Ticket (Like maybe hour, 2 hours)
Personal Ghillie: 100$, and 2-3 DIY Time Tickets
Sighting in rifle, fine tuning hopup, getting used to the bolt/workings: 5 DIYTT
Finding the right BB and making sure all the parts are working: 50$ 2 DIYTT
Buying parts that have broken or dont work: (your new, its gonna happen) 100$
Total so far: 1300$, 11 DIYTT
But wait, we have to communicate with the commander here!
New GOOD Radio: 50-100$
Headset: 10-30$
Getting used to it and programing it: 1 DIYTT
And now, the hardest part to get down.
Experience using and shooting rifle: 10 DIYTT
Experience hiding and moving with ghillie suit: 15-20 DIYTT
So lets see here, to be what you want is estimated to be somewhere around 1405$ and 42 DIYTT (which in FelixSpeak something like 63 hours?)
Become a DM, its cheaper. Your not going to be able to fork out At the LEAST 1000$ and the knowledge for fixing it all together.
It takes a lot of time and a lot of work, more hours that money by a long shot. Ask some of the resident Bolt Action guys about it.

Re: Sniper Rifle
Haha, thanks Steevo.
You name a game, I've been to it.
If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.
If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

Re: Sniper Rifle
I didnt even include the amount of work it takes to get used to 20 pounds of a gun, and to keep that quiet, and to find all the propietary parts involved, or even show up to games, pay field fee, buy bandages for when your lit up, getting a team, becoming a good steady shot by steading the rifle and control breathing for those super duuper long shots you want to make, and finding a place to get all this together.
Buy a VSR, be happy with lightweight and good. Hell buy Revs, its upgraded and ready to go for a very cheap price. All you gotta do is get your ghillie together and start practicing!

Re: Sniper Rifle
The part about the gun being big and intimidating is silly. If you do your job they will never see your gun.

Re: Sniper Rifle
^ exactly.
Big and intimidating is cool for off the field. On the field your the guy that chills in the base because its too heavy to carry around

Anthony is now armed with all the information and advice he needs on the subject, now it is up to him to decide what he wants to do. The OP is answered unless he wishes to ask further questions.
