FPS Issue

Post by Cody C. » Sat Feb 08, 2014 10:16 pm

Ok so here's the rundown. I upgraded my KWA CQB to shoot harder. Ive done tons of mods and have many hours spent tuning and tinkering but my FPS sucks.

I chronoed it with a Brand New GUARDER SP150 and it shoots 355 FPS. It's 352-355 extremely consistently, but shouldn't it be shooting harder with an SP150?
The air seal is good through the air nozzle but I feel I'm losing FPS somewhere. I have a cylinder with slightly less than a Mid-cylinder port and a 363mm prommy barrel.

I am using the stock KWA 2GX bucking, Flat hopped. Also, the hop unit is split version design. Should I modify the body to fit a one piece hop up and then use a Madbull bucking?
This would get me more FPS but would this get me to 500FPS?

What I really want to know is if 355 FPS is par for the course on a SP150 and a 363mm barrel.

Try using a different cylinder. Also, what bbs are you chronoing with?

Anything less than what you've got now. That CQB has some really, really, really deep ports. Way more than it needs. A Type 2 should sufficiently volume a 363mm barrel. My guess is that you're system is very under volumed, and it's really killing the fps output.

I have the same gun and did the same thing. All I changed was the cylinder and got up to around 375 with .25s. I'll see if I can find a pic of the one I used.
