Well, we're all done!

Here are a bunch of pics

Here is how my first attempt at the Chimera trigger board install went....
Image

I knew I was going to want a switch in line between the battery and the mosfet so that I wouldn't have to disassemble the stock to take the battery off (since its an computer mosfet, it will slowly drain the battery as long as its plugged in). This is how the switch looks in location, with some random wires soldered on for testing. This is in the neck of the sock btw.
Image

The next 3 are a few shots of how the battery lives in the stock. Its only a 7.4, but thanks to the pre-cocking option of the Chimera, the trigger response is instant.
Image
^Its pretty easy to reach under the cheek rest to get to the balance wire of the battery, so I can charge it without taking apart the stock.

Unfortunately, it would not be very easy to shorten the data wires that connect the Chimera trigger board and brick assembly. Luckily, there is a lot of space here behind the GB in the lower receiver for me to coil them up.

Here is more of that neck of the stock, with the battery coming in from the right, and the switch mounted underneath. ... As well as the brick of the Chimera. I'm very glad I added the switch, because otherwise I'd have to get back in here to disconnect the battery every time.

Here is that section all closed up. This switch on the externals of the gun is AWESOME, makes programming and adjusting super easy.... Clearly, I will be hitting those screws that mount the stock to the body with some black paint.

A few full shots, before the switch was installed.

Final build list

VFC Scar-H SSR

Internals:

7.4v 1800mah 20c battery
Custom toggle switch
Chimera mosfet
G&P M170 Devil Jet motor
RiotSC 20:1 gearset
Lonex Red piston
SHS Aluminum piston head
SP160 Spring
(Hop up mods incoming)
Prometheus 6.03 509mm barrel

Externals:

KM Super Long silencer 425mm
Magpul PTS PRS stock for a Masada
Custom Blue Hole sinkhole mud paintjob

Mods:

Sorbo
Radius GB
AOE perfected
Dremel work all through the stock
External barrel shortened to front of receiver

Anything else to note....

Chimera set to precocking of 60ms, giving instant trigger response. And believe it or not, it cycles as fast as I can tap the trigger, even on the tiny 7.4 battery.

Very nice. I really like the way you ran the mosfet and fit the battery into the stock. It is a very sexy looking gun. Btw in the vfc scar ssr does it have a regular V2 or an extended V2.

Just a regular V2... :( ... the classic army scar h has an extended. But then I'd have to fit that in a VFC body

And how hard would that be?

Probably not as the stock and wiring in the gun currently.

I've never actually gotten my hands on a Classic Army Scar-H, maybe I should try and pick one up...

Custom Masada PRS stock on the gun, and even more custom fitting a battery inside that stock. I believe I can get a stick type 11.1v 20c 1600mah in there. Not the biggest battery in the world, but it'll have to do. My only other option for more juice would be running two lipos, and they're supposed to be identical batteries to do that.

Power goes to a Chimera mosfet, and yes, I have to find a place for the brick of that mosfet too.

The motor I have in there is a G&P M170 Devil Jet, which should do the job. I still don't own a Lonex motor, but I don't think its worth replacing the Devil Jet to get one.

RiotSC gearset. Enough said there.

Existing piston needs to go, its a half tooth. I'll probably just get a SHS Blue piston for replacement.

AOE corrected.

Sorbo added.

Any strong opinions on piston heads? Otherwise I'll stick with something metal; whatever I can get my hands on that's decent. I may go ahead and add a slightly larger O-Ring though.

SP170 it shall be.

Radius GB shell

Metal Hop up unit. I've never cared about that before. Additional opinions?

Appropriate hop up mods.

Prommy 6.03 .... 509mm I guess

ok now that i see what youre doing, i take back the puke comment. like that stock tho, no tadpole there!
