G&G GR16 blowback spring question.

2 questions actually. My brother recently purchased a kwa sr10 which he loves. He put a TBB in it and purchased an m120 spring. I did some googling and it looks like the sr-10 is stock with an m120 in it already. So I was going to either buy the new one off of him or see if I could get his old one.

So on to my next question... In your opinion can the gearbox in a g&g gr16 blowback handle an m120 without breaking it? Currently it's shooting 340 with .2's but I would like to bump that up a bit to be able to use .25 more effectively.

G&G prolines can handle an M120 for a good while without problems. They are solid assault rifle gearboxes with the only real weakness being their wiring. The blowback versions of AEGs merely have a mod that attaches the "bolt" to the piston, it is not really much different than a normal AEG.

It's not a proline, it's a CM but I thought gearboxes were similar aren't they?

Just wanted to let you know that the KWA m120 spring is shorter than some/most aftermarket springs.  Your cousin may still see a jump in FPS if he installs the aftermarket spring.  Then again, with the FPS limits increasing a bit in 2011 for the AOSC, he may want to try something else.  Just giving you options.

I put it in mine :). And honestly, after he put the 6.01 in the sr10 it shoots like a dream so he's content for the moment.

Though shorter, it is more robust to compensate.
