Alright, so my mom has bought me an airsoft gun for christmas (not an idea i find that great), and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the gun she got me. It's a Heckler and Kotch G36C. It's rated at 300 fps according to the package and seems to be a heavy gun, although it does not say its a metal body. Anyway, does anyone know if this is something I can work with or should I just ask her to take it back. If i keep it it's obviously gonna need upgrades before i can really field it, since my walmart shotgun is 350ish and barely gets me by.

What brand is it? H&K is the brand of the real steel one.

Of course it has no metal body; it's a polymer gun!

If it's branded as a H&K with proper trademarks, it probably is the Umarex. In that case, you've got a great G36 and I'd hold on to it.

Dicks sells H&K traded G36s... and if it's 300 FPS, it's probably what she got. I'm not 100% sure whom the OEM is, but it doesn't seem all that great to be honest. ASGI used to have something similar on their website not that long ago, but I can't find it.

Is it actually in a box, or is it plastered to a cardboard back like a normal retail toy?

Steevo is talking about the ARES rebranded Umarex G36, if it's from Dick's it's not. Find out the manufacturer and then we can give you some actual info on it.

Alright, I looked a little, but I don't really know what mark im looking for or anything. It's in a plastic case/package. I'm pretty sure she got it from dicks tho. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

The easiest thing to do then would be to remove the stock and look at the GB shell, if it's plastic, it's an LPEG. According to the website, it also comes in a clear finish and even "ACM" isn't listed as the manufacturer, so it probably is an LPEG.

Alright, here's pics. Judging by what I've seen tho, it might be what steevo said, but I'm not sure. If it is, I'm keeping it, if not, my other bro has decided he wants it if I don't.

Everything seems to say umarex h+k, which according to steevo would be a good one. but as I said, i am pretty close to clueless, so check the pics and point me in the best direction. Please and thanks.

From those pictures I'm inclined to say it's the LPEG. Umarex does (or did) rebrand an ARES G36 with full trademarks and blowback. I don't see anything here about blowback, so this probably isn't the $300+ ARES.


EDIT: I just noticed the dual power thing. This is definitely the LPEG. A while back Umarex released this thing; if your battery is dead, you can manually cock it by pulling back the charging handle. This is interesting if you think about how the trigger works with no power.

thast what i thought it was too. but hey, thats how we got started...one lpeg lead to a massive arsenal...thats a good neighborhood war gun. and ifi rememeber correctly....it actaully shoots HARDER in spring mode, asgi had a video on it.
