Please help!

I recently got a ics sportline m4. I forgot to restart the gears when i changed the upper gearbox, so I manually turned the gears to the right position,while the battery was plugged in...probably not a good idea.So the battery got really hot and I unplugged it. Next time I plugged a battery in, the fuse blew. I took the gearbox apart, made sure everyting was good and even changed the motor. I plugged a different battery in, and blown fuse.

That actually sounds like your wiring. If a motor contact or piece of exposed wire touches any metal it will short out, blow fuses, eat motors, etc. I would check your motor contacts first and if it looks ok then you may want to open her up and inspect all the wires, including inside the gb. Look for a smashed wire, exposed wire, sometimes it can be small.

I think there is a smashed wire...how can I fix it?

You can put heat shrink around the exposed section of wire, or put electrical tape around it.  Considering how tight the wiring channels are inside of most gearboxes, you may not be able to do that though.  In the worst case scenario you'll need to replace the wire completely.  When you go with replacements, you may as well upgrade while you've got it open.  Bigger gauged wire (lower number=bigger wire) throughout is generally a good idea.

Well I bypassed the fuse an it seemed to function fine.The only thing is, its an ICS and now the decompressing feature wont work...any ideas on why?

I dont recommend bypassing the fuse, if you were having blow outs its for a reason. If you remove it and the surge happens again then your motor could get fried. I recommend using a stronger fuse like 30 tops. Things are probably working fine now because the exposed wire has been covered (i assume). I would put the fuse back and see how it goes. If the wire has been fixed then you should be good to go. As for decompression feature. I would check the button assembly on the body. I have not had that much experience with fixing ics's specifically so im not really sure about that one.

Well I tried covering an exposed wires and the fuse still blew. It was a 30 so yeah I dont know what the issue is. The forward assist button seems to work fine.

Theres a short in your electrical, if you cant find the source I recommend just swapping to higher quality wiring and installing it very carefully.

Ok I'll probably do that. The tappet plate broke, would that happen because of the electical issues or cause i bypassed the fuse?

That's a mechanical failure, and probably more related to the gears than the electrical system.

When it comes to pictures, it's best to post as many as you've got.  It's unusual that your tappet plate broke (considering your other problems) but these things do happen.  If you're uninitiated in gearbox work, you should probably take pictures of everything that you've messed with.  It's not uncommon to forget exactly where or how a part sits, and wiring can be a real pain if you don't route them properly.

When does the fuse blow? Within seconds of plugging in the battery, or when you have the battery plugged in and then you try to fire it? If it is the prior, it is a short as GN said, if it is the latter it could be many things, and the following info is needed: How many rounds dose it fire before blowing the fuse? What battery are you using exactly, what does the gun chrono, and is it 100% stock? If not, what upgrades are in it.

The fuse blows only seconds after I plug in the battery and the gun is stock, exept for a TTB.
