Gas pistol issues

I have a Cybergun P226 that I picked up used a few months ago. It's seen very little use (I know the previous owner well). At any rate, today I was test firing it to ensure everything still works as it should (haven't fired it in a while and I'm planning to sell it).

It's a dbl stack mag and with 2 2 second bursts of gas, it still runs out before it can shoot all of the bb's in the mag. I replaced the o-ring on the base of the mag and tried again. Same thing. On two occasions a huge quick burst of gas came out of the top of the pistol like a steam engine blowing off steam.

Does this sound like the brass magazine valve or something else?

Well, for one, fill it longer than that. Secondly, are you lubing the gas and mags and gun correctly? Lastly, do you let it warm up, or do you put in cold gas and shoot it right away? Do the mags leak that you can hear or see?

I'll try 3 two second charge , 4 possibly? I add the oil to the gas per the adaptors instructions. If I remember correctly it's 2 drops of oil per 5 mag fills. I usually use my KWA PTP 1911 which has gas left over after a single 2 second charge. Since I shoot that one so much I can tell by the way it shoots if there's too much oil or not enough.

I've never lubed any of my mags. I'm guessing that I should? Whats the general rule on this?

In this instance, yes. I filled the mag and immediately shot it. Repeated the process although I would let the mag cool down between fills and shooting again.

I could not see, hear or smell a leak. Is there anything wrong in filling a mag with gas and submerging in water to look for leaks? Or at the very spray soapy water around areas prone to leak?

That is a good way to check for leaks. I would fill it longer. Also, drop some silicon oil in the mag itself, gas it up, and cycle the gun with no BBs so the silicon oil will spread to all the moving components. Do try putting in more gas and checking for leaks in the way you mentioned as well, and let them warm up. Let us know how it goes with these changes.

Disassembled the mag. Visually inspected everything which looked fine. Oiled the exit valve inside and out. Let it sit over night. Cleared excess oil and assembled.

Filled mag with 3 two second bursts. Sprayed mag with soapy water. No leaks. Cleaned and loaded into the gun. Emptied the mag of gas. Repeated process until I felt all excess oil was blown out.

Disassembled the pistol's upper including loading nozzle and cleaned excess oil. Cleaned barrel, bucking and lower assembly. Assembled, loaded bb's and 4 2sec bursts of gas and fired.

If I attempt to rapid fire the entire mag, it runs out of gas before it shoots all BB's. Is this normal for a large mag or is more gas needed?

If I shoot a few rounds, wait and repeat, it barely shoots the whole mag.

Whats the verdict doc?

Due to Boyle's law, if you fire them in quick succession you will lose more gas. This is why I can fire a lot more rounds in semi auto on one fill of my Glock than if I dump it in full auto.

If it is still barely firing all the rounds, add more gas. I have heard that the multiple short bursts thing is recommended but I never have done it. I hold it in for about 4-5 seconds straight and my GBBs and NBBs have always done fine that way.

Based on my tests from the previous post, I think you're right. I should fill with more gas and rapid firing is a gas hog. I'm use to my KWA 1911 single stack mags. 2 2second burst of gas and I can empty the whole mag no problem. But thats only 14 rds compared to what, 26 rds?
