Magazine Problem
Magazine Problem
My KWA m4 won't take Classic Army mags, yet a while ago I threw a friends CA mags in there and they worker. Just bought 3 new CA hicaps thinking they would work and they don't. It is a fit issue, not a feeding, they won't go in far enough to catch the magazine release. Any solutions? I know one might be to dremel the corners of the mag well, because KWA puts stupid extra metal things on theres. But other than that?
Re: Magazine Problem
a layer of duct tape (maybe 2) on the inside of the magwell opposite the actual mag catch and it will keep them over far enough to lock in.

No like they won't go in, it is to tight, i can only get like 2 inches or so of the mag in the well...

Re: Magazine Problem
Sounds like your options are to either dremel the magwell like you said or get different mags.

Re: Magazine Problem
I bet Mag mids would fit, Gambler hasn't mentioned any issues with them in any of his KWA's

Re: Magazine Problem
Actually, my CA hi-caps fit in my KWA's too. But the MAG mags are the best IMO. They are very solid. Just tested my CA hi-caps again to be sure since I hardly ever use them and not a problem in either one of my SR5's
Re: Magazine Problem
I got mag mids but I'd rather go Hicaps, (yeah yeah get over it). Any other solutions besides dremel?
Re: Magazine Problem
Not really; either you mag is too big or your magwell is too small, so the only solution would be to make them smaller.
On the other hand, take your mag catch out and see if they will slide all the way in. If they're only sliding in a couple of inches, it's possible that they're hanging up on the edge of the mag catch.

Re: Magazine Problem
I think I am going to have to dremel. Can I just go right ahead and dremel or do I need to take out the gearbox, 2 piece hop up part, and remove the metal body from everything?
Re: Magazine Problem
Check your magazine catch first like I suggested; if that's the problem, then you'll thank me later.
Also consider that the lower receiver costs a lot more than 3 magazines, and that somebody else probably has some hicaps they'd be perfectly willing to trade for yours.

Re: Magazine Problem
Ok, could you list steps on how to do that? Sorry I=scrub.
Re: Magazine Problem
There will be a small screw on the right side of the body on the mag release. Unscrew this )DON'T STRIP IT!) and the mag release will fall out.
