Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
I can do it, but it is not worth your money to upgrade that.

^ Just like Dom said I wouldn't put money into that gun just buy one off of here or a brand new one and you can upgrade it. Or just have Dom build you one it can be as cost efficient or expensive as you like.

I would agree with him as well, you're better off putting your money into a better rifle. What is your budget and rifle preference, and we'll point you in the right direction.Dominum wrote:I can do it, but it is not worth your money to upgrade that.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
I think the main problem that you might run into while upgrading your rifle is that Crossman is flaky at best on using industry standards. The parts that Dom might have to buy to upgrade it might have to come from Crossman and still be of inferior quality. Upgrading "WallMart" specials is not recommended.zero179 wrote:Well my brother suggests that if the gun is still operational then why should I purchase another gun? Basically "if it's not broke don't fix it" situation. I love my AK variant, it's my first match gun and I don't want to part with it. So Dom could you please help me upgrade it I want to make it stronger.
Thanks man,
Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
Quite frankly, anything with the word "Crossman" in the name sucks. Unless that particular gun is a rebranded JG, you're not going to be able to do much of anything with it in terms of upgrades. Your best bet would be to not waste any money on it and put your cash towards a solid metal AK like a CM.036, Echo1 Red Star, or DBoys/Kalash.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
Believe it or not guys, but apparently, the Crossman Ak is TM spec and upgradeable. I've read several upgrade stories about the gun and think it would be worth it to upgrade it.
Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
it's a really good starter gun and i love it and it's my favorite gun lolz so plz help guys yes the parts may have to come from crossman but i will help out along with him as well lolz so it's not like he's doing all the work alone.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
If it is in fact a TM clone, then you're probably looking at...
New piston head ~$20
New piston ~$20
New cylinder head (or maybe just a new O-ring) ~$20
New hopup bucking ~$10
New hopup nub ^ usually included
New hopup chamber (possibly) ~10-15 for a CYMA metal chamber
New barrel (possibly) ~$15-40
New spring ~$10
New wiring ~$5-10
plus labor of $20-40 depending on where you get it done
This is all based on the assumption that the stock parts are almost entirely not worth keeping. If some of them are, then you might be fine with just a piston and piston head + new spring.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
I think alot of what needs to be replaced depends on how he wants his gun upgraded.
Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
i want it to be upgraded to the point where it can shoot a farther distance and and have a little more "hmph" to it and this doesn't have to be done in one go i can get to it time and time again you know upgrade as i go...worse case scenario i could get it killed but i checked out some other guns as well and the fps of my ak is alot stronger then the other guns that look way cooller than the my ak and it's not the gun that makes the player it's the player that makes the gun...everything in airsoft depends on how you play...as well as gun power and range lolz...but mostly skills ^_^ my crossman is 375 fps and for a walmart gun that's near 400 fps and that's really srong so why try to get another gun if this one starts out incredibly strong i'm not trying to make anyone mad but i just started in this sport and i just wanna become a really good player that's all.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
I understand what you are getting at but we are saying instead of putting money into a walmart gun or any lower end gun you can get even a G&G for a good price and work with that or even E1 or JG make inexpensive platforms to build on. I am not a fan of high fps I think it is a pointless thing to have in any gun other then a sniper/dmr type weapon. Most airsoft fights will be with in 150ft and that tends to be the max you will see. I would rather have a low fps assault rifle with high ROF with no meds or 20 ft and be able to deal with someone up close.
Again no one is saying not to upgrade your crossman but we are saying its kinda a waste of money if you even did put any money into it.

Re: ok nevermind needing a new gun
So you want a higher fps? But then you say that it's already high enough? I'm confused?zero179 wrote:i want it to be upgraded to the point where it can shoot a farther distance and and have a little more "hmph" to it and this doesn't have to be done in one go i can get to it time and time again you know upgrade as i go...worse case scenario i could get it killed but i checked out some other guns as well and the fps of my ak is alot stronger then the other guns that look way cooller than the my ak and it's not the gun that makes the player it's the player that makes the gun...everything in airsoft depends on how you play...as well as gun power and range lolz...but mostly skills ^_^ my crossman is 375 fps and for a walmart gun that's near 400 fps and that's really srong so why try to get another gun if this one starts out incredibly strong i'm not trying to make anyone mad but i just started in this sport and i just wanna become a really good player that's all.
And more range is simply a new hop up bucking.
