i was putting my m4 together and i used the wrong screw that holds the pistolgrip on the gearbox/lower reciever and it was too long and broke off in the gearbox, so i need some ideas on how to get it out, whether or not i need to take it out, what other repairs i would need, et cetera

If you have a shell w/4 holes on the bottom for those screws (and a pistol grip w/4 screw holes) then just make sure it's not hitting anything inside the shell and don't worry about it.
If you've only got 2, then I would personally drill it out very carefully and retap the hole.

Yes, for a while. Just don't put too much stress on it.
