What kinda battery setups have those who have used CASVs used? were the wired to the rear, or did you fit it in the handguard?

I have a lipo in the front of mine, but the way it sits on my L85, the outer barrel is much lower than it would be in an M4. A small type 9.6v would fit, or you could wire to the back like you said.

Yeah I'd vote just throw a lipo in it

Why would you ever use anything other than a LiPo? (unless it came with the gun of course)

Personally, I wouldn't... but for other people its a whole other expense loop to jump through

Yep, those $10 batteries sure are expensive. Those chargers, too... $20 whole dollars!

(prices vary, but perfectly usable batteries and chargers do exist at those prices... even lower on the batteries)

Not everbody is as apt as us at finding prices. Its alot more expensive than the battery and charger they already own...

... just saying. I always get a kick out of it when somebody shells out for a four-freakin-thousand mAh 8.4v or 9.6v NiMH when they could drop a mere $10-15 on a lipo and still have leftover change to get a charger.

yeah right now i havent bothered to switch to lipos. any being unemployed, switching isnt going to happen anytime soon.

im currently planning on using a 9.6v NiMH with mini tamiyas(dont wanna hear it about the connectors lol). So whats the recommendation for fitting that battery in?

fit the rail to an old M4 and the battery definitely did not fit. rail wouldnt close. Really dont want to use a PEQ box, its front heavy as it is. So it looks like rear wiring the gun is gonna be the best/only option?
