So I got bored today, and remembered a picture somewhere on Google of someone who created their own hand grip using a dremel. It looked good from what i remembered, so I thought to create the same effect with a solder iron. Difference being instead of dremeling the small holes, leaving no residue, the iron melted the plastic into small rings around each hole, which i sanded a small amount afterwards. I did it first on my LPEG to see what it would do. Obviously the plastic is more.. plasticy.. than other guns. But for others ill probably try a dremel.
Here are some of the finished shots.
Close-up on the holes.
When painted over with, this is what it looks like:
How does it look, would the iron work on better guns (Echo1 M28 maybe?), and would a dremel do better?
EDIT:
I took my M28 down and put three small holes to test it. Compared to the LPEG, the holes took a lot more pressure to make the same size and the outer residue ring of plasic was very minimal, making this even better for guns like that. ITS A CURE FOR BARE HANDED SWEATY PEOPLE!
