P90, Takedown and spring questions

(Disclaimer: I am very good with computers and machines and have played a couple years of organized Airsoft. But I do not know much about the guns, so please do not be offended or attack me for being misinformed and/or simply wrong.)

The plan was to pick up some budget guns, easy to take down and upgrade. We are planning on playing only occasionally, as opposed to going every chance we got like before. So I figure, great buy. Either I like it and upgrade it or don't and isn't much to recoup for a re-buy. With coupons and some old promo emails mixed with their sale I got the gun for $89 give or take.

So I get the gun today, Go through my gun buying ritual make sure everything looks good, check the internals to make sure they match other peoples on YouTube, Make sure no barrel obstructions , Make sure the wires seem intact and not nicked or pinched. Look at the FPS count....Double look, Double double look.... 350-380, and its shooting 426.

Obviously this will not work for CQB, But I also want to play field so I was wondering if its realistic to get two springs, one for CQB and one for field?

I understand that the P90 is VERY easy to take apart, but I have no idea what is involved in downgrading a spring nor how many other parts are affected.

Thanks for your time,
-Rabid

Downgrading will put less stress on the other parts, so doing so will not harm anything. In fact it is likely to make other parts last longer. Just grab any TM, CA, E1 etc. P90 tutorial vid for instructions on taking out the GB (remove two screws and slide out the back) and opening the GB. I could type it all out, but there's no need when you can watch any number of vids.

Thanks for the information I will definitely look into it.

I should have been more clear with stating my questions about, how realistic is it to use two different velocity of springs for instance on high FPS spring for field and a lower one for CQB fields.

It will take you 10-15 minutes to swap each time, so, not really a problem.
