Possible upgrades for G&G Combat Machine

Alright,
So I've done some significant research into the upgrades I want to do to my M4 (a G&G Combat Machine). Basically, I just want to take what it's good at (being a lightweight, fairly maneuverable carbine) and make it better at that.
So this basically means pumping the FPS up a bit (it was shooting at 280 fps with .20's), increasing the accuracy (it was pretty inaccurate) and range a tad, without burdening it with additional weight.
The upgrades I'm thinking of are:
(first round)
Inner barrel (undecided as to whether or not I want a barrel extension/mock suppressor) of around 6.03 or 6.01.
Improved Hop-up
Improved battery
(second round)
Replace the wiring with higher capacity wiring
Replace connectors with Dean's connectors
What do you guys think? I'm not looking to turn it into anything more than it is - so no DMR upgrades or CQB upgrades, and very few (if any) external upgrades aside from the current red dot sight.
I'd also like to get recommendations for what sort of battery to buy, I've read through various articles about it but still am not quite sure of what would be the best to run. The gun needs a nun chuck style battery, and I'd rather not put a PEQ box on there.

Is the battery stores in the crane stock or in e hand guard? With either I'd suggest a lipo.
The other thing you could do is replace the gears and other internal parts like that to get a higher rate of fire. Otherwise a tbb, a new battery, and a new hopup should be perfect for what your looking for.

I'm okay with the rate of fire as is, so I'm not too concerned with replacing the gears, motor, etc. unless there are reliability concerns (with the upgrades I'm looking at, I don't think there will be).
The battery is stored in the crane stock, and I was considering LiPo eventually. Probably a step 3 upgrade, since I believe the normal Tamiya connectors aren't well suited for using LiPo.

Well if you just buy a lipo, not only is it about the same pricing as a nicd, it's already prewired to deans (if you buy from the right site)

7.4v lipos are similar to 9.6v batteries. You don't NEED any special connectors for them or any special mosfets to ensure your gun lasts long enough. But felix is right, many lipos are extremely cheap, and come with deans already installed on them.
As for upgrades, either Madbull or Prometheus for your barrel. The Madbull 363 6.03mm barrel or the Prometheus 6.05 363mm barrel, both are excellent choices. The first is about $35, the second about $40.
Bucking wise, you can get a drop in upgrade such as a PDI bucking, or do some research into a flat hop or r-hop. I provide instillation for both if you think you can't do it yourself.
I think your upgrade list looks very good, and addresses some of the major problems with G&G guns (their wires).

Why would I need an upgrade for the bucking? Or is that generally what the hop up upgrades consist of?
As well, if anyone has any experience with replacing the wiring on any guns, I'd be curious to hear about how hard it is. I don't have much (any) experience soldering stuff.
Star, I might be hitting you up to do some of the work once I get stuff purchased. I'd rather it be done right than cheap, since I'd prefer not to ruin the gun.
By the way, what is this MOSFET I keep hearing about?

Yeah, a hop up is mostly just the bucking that sits on the barrel. That's the part that contacts the bb giving it the back spin of the hop up.
Wiring isn't too difficult if you can solder. Simply using the right wire, and making sure that it'll be out of the way during reassembly is the hard part, that, and making sure your soldering connections are solid.
A MOSFET is a simple electric switch that changes how the power flows through the wires. With AEGs, the trigger system creates lots of resistance, and slows the rate of fire. Using high voltage batteries can damage the trigger system because of this. What a mosfet does is directs the power straight from the battery to the motor, and uses sensors to see when the trigger is engaged. You can check out SteevoLS's thread about mosfets, as he makes and sells them if you're interested in picking one up.

No problem.
Also, where are you seeing the Prometheus barrels for $40? I'm seeing it for $80 on Evike.

Not the full steel barrels, but their ASH Barrels. They are 6.05 in diameter. Something like this:

you dont want the straight Prommy barrels, those are the ones in the 80 dollar range. The cheaper ones are the ASH barrels by Prommy. I think airsoft atlanta has them in stock.
Edit: Curse you star_folder! you beat me to it!

I ended up ordering this guy:

Since I had to pick up a few other things and I had to pick up some other stuff and the coupons/free shipping on GI is hard to beat right now.

He's right, as you never know when you will need to shoot around a corner.
