VFC e series locking up

So I recently stripped the piston on my m4 and somehow bent the selector plate so I replaced both of them. Now my problem is the gun likes to lock up on semi if I pull the trigger fast. I know this is something that can happen with AEGs as it is but it does this a lot more than it did. So what do you think it might be?

It's probably the new selector plate; moving the cut off lever in a different way, resulting in the lock ups that you didn't have with the stock selector plate. If you can, you might try bending it back into place, and reinstalling it.
Just curious, but how was the piston stripped? Was it the metal tooth snapping, and failing, dragging the rest of the teeth with it?

Well before I ordered a new selector plate I tried to bend it back but to no success. From what I heard the selector plate I got was compatible.
As for the piston stripping, it was just a VFC polycarb piston that all the plastic teeth were worn down to nothing.
