I have have a jg m16 which came with a type2 gearbox but everything is stock in it. I am looking to upgrade it now but don't know where to start. I heard flat/r hops were great but besides that I know very little, please help.

So, there is this awesome thing called, a search bar in this forum, you can see all the other tech topics with recommendations stated a million times over, OR you could go to all the other bajillion air-soft forums, where people have asked the same question, and received the same answer.

Asking Questions is awesome, but using your innate google-fu is better.

As always, the order is Hop Up(Flat or R-hop, just pay Star to do it and save the time), then the other parts(Spring for higher FPS, DIY mods, TBB[6.03 or even 6.05] new motor[If your gun doesn't have the awesome JG Blue] MOSFET for running a LiPo, New 16 AWG wiring etc). Just next time, before you ask a question, try and at least Google for an answer, it isn't very difficult, I promise it won't hurt.

Start with decided how you want to upgrade the gun. I can tell you a million different things to do, but if you don't want them that's a big waste of money. JG guns are very good after a good tuning. The stock parts are very strong.
