Does anyone know about the classic army ar-10's spring and upgradability? If so can you recommend a more powerful spring without having to upgrade anything else in the rifle and will it make a difference in the distance and accuracy of the gun?

Accuracy is not affected by the spring*, but an increase in the power of the spring will result in an increase in FPS which in turn usually means greater range. I would trust a stock CA with an M120 or M130 provided you are not overdoing the ROF with a high output battery. This, like almost all other ARs has a V2 GB compatible with all standard AEG main springs.

*While technically this is not entirely true, for most practical purposes it is. No need for this thread to belabor the point.

If I get an M130 spring and install it into the rifle would I have to worry about it doing any damage. I'm using a 9.6 volt 1600 mah battery, but I mainly use semi only.

Whenever you increase the strength of the spring, you increase the amount of work the rest of the parts have to do. This means a failure is more likely to occur sooner rather than later. Assuming everything is in good order, that should hold up for a while though. You aught to check the shimming and AoE while you are in there.

AR10 = elongated gearbox. Spring will still be standard, but the piston won't be.

Ooops, my bad. Thanks for catching that. It's the SR25/SCAR H elongated V2 variant GB type indeed. I happen to have a CA extended sector gear leftover from something ages ago, if yours breaks or you want a spare I'd be willing to sell it.
