ARES V3 gearbox

Post by TokenTech89 » Tue Nov 27, 2012 10:06 am

Does anyone know if it is possible to use the Ares Quick spring change V3 gearbox in a Tokyo Mauri AEG. I have been googling and to no avail. SO i figured someone on here may have had experience with it

1) Don't know
2) Do you have it outside the Ares receiver? If so, do you have any non-Ares gearboxes that you could test-fit in the Ares lower?
3) If so, do you have access to a JG or Gen1 KWA receiver (if you don't have a TM sitting around)? Both are pretty close TM clones.
4) If you are buying a TM M4 but only to replace the gearbox with an Ares box, why are you buying a TM?

1) ok
2) i don't have an ARES gun. I have a JG
3) Yes i have a JG, but no Ares gearbox to which try
4) not buying anything, just seeing if it were possible to get it for my G36 so i can go from assault rifle to DMR in a few minutes without swapping out the entire gearbox

Derp, missed the part about "V3". JGs are indeed TM clones, but I don't know if KWA G36s are TM clones (never worked on one).

Take a dremel to key parts of the gearbox and you can turn your current shell into a quick change. I have a sping guide with wide steel tabs that could hold the pressure of a higher spring, the only question is will the gearbox.

KWA is not with Ares, each have their own separate OEM. I'm saying the Ares is likely to fit in an KWA because KWA designed their gearboxes extra large.

But JumpGunner's got a good suggestion. If you're good with a dremmel, you can try turning your current gearbox into a quick spring change gearbox, save a few bucks. And you wouldn't have to deal with the less than ideal Ares triggers.

If Echo 1 G36s are TM clones, then KWAs are TM clones. I've owned both and both break down exactly the same.

They are not exact TM clones though, the specs are slightly different between the two guns. The biggest differences just so happen to be the size of the gearbox.
