A bit new the forum. Felix sent me here for help. Basically, I have the body of an AGM SCAR in which I had a Lonex drop-in gearbox installed, which has remained untouched since its installation. It has worked fine for the past few months, but just recently I plugged in a battery, fired two shots in quick succession, and the gearbox seemed to lock up, like most guns do when fired too fast on semi. I switched to full auto which usually fixes the problem, but this time, the trigger gave me no response. I'm kinda at a loss. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it? Bear in mind, I have the touch of death for gearboxes, and have essentially zero hands-on tech experience.

Explain "no response" Did the motor still click, still sound like it was trying to move? What battery are you using and when is the last time you used it.

No response as in the trigger pulls, and there's no sound. no "click" or anything. I'm using 9.6v NIMH's (tried 3 different ones). Last used the gun about a week ago. Now that I think about it, I'm feeling it might be an electrical issue.

If it's making no noises at all, then yes, it sounds like something has come disconnected. Check your fuse, check your motor. Those are the two most common breaks in the electrical system.

Don't have a fuse, so how can I tell for sure if a tamyia connector is messed up?

He means to check the two connectors on the bottom of the motor after you have checked the fuse (if it had one). After that check your Tamiyas, if you look in the mail end and you see the "bullet" type connectors there, squeeze them together tighter with pliers.

Everything seems to be in order, though are there any tell-tale signs that I might be missing?

If you've eliminated any failures in the electrical system outside the gearbox (any disconnections of current such as burnt fuse, bad connectors, disconnected motor, or places where insulation is missing or wires are broken that would allow the circuit to be shorted or disconnected), then you have to open it up and find out what is wrong, since it must be on the inside. If, when you plugin a battery and try to fire there is no electricity at all getting to the motor, then somewhere somehow there is a break in the circuit. You have to find it.
