Gear ratio for heavy spring

I'm going to be pulling a Guarder SP150 ~ SP160 in a KWA 2gx gearbox soon. I have a 9.6v 4200mah brick battery to use (intellect), and a JG Blue motor. I will be buying Seigetek gears, but the question is which ratio is best for my DMR setup? Balanced (20.

, Torque (27.5), or Torque Plus (40.91)? I want the one that gives the best trigger response. I could also use a good piston recommendation.

You can use 20:1 gears for that spring. The JG Blue will pull it no problem. I would recommend using a 11.1v lipo (if you have a mosfet) because it'll give you a nice boost in trigger response as well.
The Lonex Red piston or the SHS Blue steel tooth piston are both very good.
Also, you will want to radius the cylinder cuts in the gearbox. This is the typical failure point for a V2 gearbox with a heavy spring. Here is a guide from our own Star_Folder--

Thanks for the info. Since 20:1 gears will work, I will save some money and just use the stock 18:1 gears until/ if they fail. Looks like it's the SHS piston for me since it has the full teeth.

It is worth your time to replace those gears. You can use 18:1 SHSs if you don't want to shell out for Riots. But stock gears will fail pretty quick under the stress of a SP160
