Hello everyone. I have decided to replace the stock hop up unit on my echo1 614, and was wondering if there was a particular brand anyone could suggest? I'm looking for a metal one piece hop unit.
I've heard a lot of talk about the new Madbull Ultimate unit.
My goal in the upgrade is for greater accuracy. I already have a tightbore barrel.

might want to change the bucking and/or nub without completely changing the hop up unit. Personally I like the KWA 2g bucking and a normal spacer. but I also have an SCS spacer and non 2G KWA bucking in my E1 G36 at the moment. Weather and work haven't allowed for decent testing at all, but a li'l bit of plinking that I've done it seems like a good combo.

Alright, thanks for the help. I went with the SCS/Shredder spacer/nub, just waiting on it to arrive. I had a G&G hop up bucking lying around, I'll throw that in for now and see how it works. I've heard that Firefly makes some of the best buckings, but at the moment I can't find a place where they're in stock.

G&G buckings are decent, but nothing special. Firefly's are the best bucking I know of, but as you said they are very hard to find in stock. Systema and KWA 2G buckings are good alternatives, and much cheaper.

Just wouldn't get the SCS and the KWA 2G bucking as they do basically the same thing, and I've heard that performs sorta suffers when using both.

Gotcha. I actually found a Firefly hard bucking on Airsoft Extreme, decided to go with that one.

How hot is your 614 shooting? Hard-type buckings are designed for high FPS guns. In my experience, using a hard-bucking in a low FPS gun will cause you a lot of jams.

Last time I chronoed it was around 450 with .20. I bought the gun used from someone who did some internal upgrades, that's why it's shooting hotter than a stock gun.

You should be good then. The Firefly bucking won't disappoint you.

If you're aiming for accuracy, there is nothing that beats H-nubs.
I installed an Echo 1 H-nub in my G&G hop-up unit and I was getting a mad-tight grouping.

Firefly makes a nub designed to be paired with their buckings.
