Also figured out how to run the wires for a front battery, so ill be using the collapseable stock on it soon

Re: Villid's updated armory
my onyl concern is that the inner barrel is not as long as the suppressor. gonna test fire today and see if theres any issues with bbs making contact after leaving the inner barrel

Re: Villid's updated armory
They won't, the only time BBs make contact with suppressors or outer barrels that extend past them is if something is wrong, i.e. the suppressor is crooked, the inner barrel is crooked/bent, or your hopup is turned WAY up. Since none of these are the case, you will be fine. Now just convert the suppressor to a functioning one and amaze your enemies downrange with your awesome silence
.

Re: Villid's updated armory
finally test fired it today. you are right, no contact with the suppressor, but the accuracy is rather poor. cleaned the barrel and it improved somewhat. Would using the silicone lube on the hopup help with that at all, or would replacing it be a better option?

She might not fire the best but she sure is sexy!

Now, I once heard some bull crap about me wanting to take dumps on people's lawns, and I can personally assure you, this is true.

Re: Villid's updated armory
Best to start cheap and easy. Systema bucking(soft) + SCS/Polar Star concave nub + longer TBB (All for around $50 shipped from ASGI). I'd see how that goes, then worry about replacing the hopup if you're still not happy.Villid wrote:Would using the silicone lube on the hopup help with that at all, or would replacing it be a better option?

[The only time any form of lube should touch the hopup is when cleaning it, and then it should be dried, see #7 above. If you put silicon oil or any other form of lube on your hopup bucking it will not work. Remember, hopup is nothing more than the measured application of friction to the top of a BB, if you lube it, it will no longer apply that friction and will thus not function at all.]

Re: Villid's updated armory
dom, you are a wellsppring of information i wasnt even aware i needed til i read it. I did the newbie TBB thing with my g36, and while i fell for the alleged accuracy gains of it alone, ive been happy with it. A new bucking and nub were already planned for, been checking them out lately. My question is, what is the difference between the 45, 55, and 65% buckings? ive seen that 65% are hard type, are the others both soft?
I always clean my barrels, but ive never cleaned them with the silicon oil. usually do it dry. definitely gonna try that. and i found some gun cleaning cloths that were precut to 1inch squares, worked better than paper towels, and gives a good tight seal.

[That works fine, basically any disposable similar material that will not leave many fibers behind. Don't use toilet paper or kleenex, because they do.]

Re: Villid's updated armory
i dont know my fps, just changed to newer stock JG spring so im thinking approx 380. gonna find out this weekend. I currently shoot 20s, but have been testing out .25s
Would 380 require the medium bucking, or would the soft still be appropriate? looking at AGI its seems the soft types dont come with a new nub.

Re: Villid's updated armory
If you are going to use .20s, go with the soft. If you are going to use .25s, go with the medium. That is assuming it is around 380. Bear in mind that either one will work, it's just a matter of optimum functionality, you can use either and it will still work well, but if you use .25s with the soft you may have to turn it all the way up, or close to it.

Re: Villid's updated armory
well i chronoed between 345 and 350 yesterday, so im thinking i should go soft with either weight? and with the softs, ive only seen them sold with just the bucking, instead of a bucking and nub set.
was just looking around and found these http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4177 would they be approprate for my application?

Re: Villid's updated armory
Those should work fine, though I am partial to firefly, TM, and Systema buckings.
