they put in a noncompatible gear box and had to mutilate the internals to get it to work. i just want blowback back in.Dominum wrote:So, you are certain that your shell is cracked, your piston is stripped, your gears are all missing teeth, your motor is burned out beyond repair, your spring is broken in half, and your trigger contacts are burned out? The likelihood of all of that happening simultaneously is about one billion billion times more likely than an autonomous single celled organism forming on it's own. In other words, that's darn near impossible. Have you looked (or had a professional look) in this gearbox, or are you doing what a lot of people do and just deciding you know what's wrong with it?specter wrote:new gear box, new piston, new gears, new motor, new spring, new wiring, and labor. sound like 180 ish?Dominum wrote:Nothing you need to repair will cost anything even close to $180.

Why not just throw it away and buy a new blowback rifle...

Re: specters stuff
Like I said, you can get G&G CM m4s for about $170
I do not always accidentally, but when I do, I accidentally the whole thing.
Re: specters stuff
What are you talking about specter? How do you mean he "put in a non compatible gearbox"? That doesn't really make sense...

Re: specters stuff
it was not made for that gun. he gave me a non-blowback one with holes in slightly different places. i had a blowback gun.
the one he gave me was not made for a blowback gun. if you want to take apart my gun to figure it out at a game i'll let you. i'll bring my old shell too if you want. you'll see as soon as you compare the 2 gearboxes

Re: specters stuff
A non blow back V2 will still work, you just won't have blow back. Either way it's a V2. Everything on the inside is the same.

Re: specters stuff
it still shoots and all, i just want blow back back in. they did have to mess around with the piston and they eventually cut it a little. i just love how this thread got derailed.

Re: specters stuff
Well, you said you needed $180 worth of parts and work, naturally I was curious. It turns out you just need a new shell and piston if you want the useless function of blow back. Otherwise you don't need to spend a cent.

Re: specters stuff
i can't find a new shell. that's the only problem. i was going to replace some of the wiring cause one little bit of wire is exposed the tiniest little bit but i guess that can wait. i really liked blowback. i liked it so much so that i got 2 extra batteries to compensate for the energy blowback uses. i'm also afraid to put in a higher powered spring since i don't have semi but i'm kinda liking having no med. anyway, what's the box type called? you got my hopes up dom. thanks.

Re: specters stuff
The blowback doesn't draw any extra power. It's a pneumatic system that bleeds off from the cylinder, blows back the featherweight fake bolt, then recycles the air through the air nozzle. Even if this were a mechanical blowback gearbox where the piston is literally pushing the bolt back, it has almost no increased draw on the motor and battery. This is fact, not opinion.

There's no kill switch on awesome!
Re: specters stuff
i got 1000 shots off a full charge on a battery with blowback. after blowback broke, i get over 2000 on the same battery on a single charge.

Re: specters stuff
There is definitely something else at work here. I've owned multiple Combat Machines myself, and worked on more than I can remember.

Re: specters stuff
You don't need a new wiring kit for an exposed wire, you need $0.0001 of electrical tape
. Look around for a used CM BB V2 shell. I am really curious why the guy had to modify the piston on a pneumatic blowback V2... Who worked on the gun?

Re: specters stuff
some guy at airsoft atlanta. they cut off one of the teeth on the piston and shaved a little off the end. it kept hitting the back of the gearbox and kept on getting stuck at the back because the piston was too wide. thanks for telling me what it's called. i've been trying to finda new box since it broke in april.

Re: specters stuff
Excellent work on the launcher build btw Specter, you avoided the common (when using a metal pipe one) mistake of having too small of an expansion chamber for the 12gram.
