A bit of intereting info on the Nerf's I recently (this month) dug up. Hasbro had once again discontinued the manufacture of the Nerf "mini vortex" (in bright lime green with red tail, orange with blue tail, and purple with red tail) as of Christmas 2010, hence I've been finding them on clearance at places like K-mart (sometimes as cheap as $2.20 each) and Family Dollar. That said, most such local sources have since dried up, Kmart for example no longer even having a place to hang them, and Toys R Us having stopped carrying them as of Jan 2011. None of the local Family Dollars have had any since spring. Of course online prices for them started going up almost immediately, as they had the previous times this has happened, and stock dried up (I personally bought out both of my usual online suppliers getting ready for Fulda Gap 2011).Dominum wrote:1.....As far as any marking agents, the answer is always no. You can get them for $2 each at Family Dollar stores, though if they are out of season you will have to ask the GM to order you a case. You mean an M4 with RIS?
However, Hasbro has resumed production again, this time in black, brown, and white colors (all with black tails and shafts), and although the round still says "vortex" molded into the side, the placard it comes mounted on (as well as all other references) have changed to "pocket aero flyer", rather than "mini vortex football". This was helpful in finding online sources for them again (via the new name), and once again they are in stock at the local Toys R' Us, only now for a whopping $4.99 each....obvious gouging.

The new colors suck for round recovery, with the notable exception of white, obviously. Get the old ones while you can still find them.
