I second that G36c comment. Oh, and springers are a little underrated, but that is just because that there are better guns out there .  . .

Is it just me or is there no flash hider on the G36?

Completely 125% agreed.  I've seen a guy take out a pretty damned good team of 5 with a Wal-Mart shotgun.  Skill and tactics play a MAJOR role in this sport and that's what makes it so interesting.
