I'm gonna need more BBs

Post by SquadronROE » Wed Feb 29, 2012 4:57 pm

Just got this thing in. It may look a little beat, but it's a beast. Here's the stats, then the pics (in an album):

2x CA box mags (they've been slightly modified with a toggle switch instead of a pressure switch)
Phoenix Mk46 outer barrel set
G&P steel bipod
CA Railed upper tray feed cover
G&P Ranger Pistol grip
G&P Mk46 butt stock
ELANE (ELCAN) illuminated redicle scope
G&P v2 gearbox (piston, gears, etc)
TM EG1000 motor
ACM M249 Upper RAS
ACM M249 Lower RAS

Deans plugs, too.

Not sure what the FPS, range or accuracy is like just yet (my backyard isn't big enough to test that)

Here's the pictures.

I really need a new camera.

That thing looks awesome. Looking forward to the fps, range, etc. on it when you get them. Any plans on upgrades?

I don't think I'll do any upgrades, as it's already pretty kitted out. The guy I bought it from clocked it at 370fps, which would be more than enough for me. The only possible stuff I'll do is repaint it to get rid of some of the weathering.

I don't think I'll even want to do a tight bore barrel, since this is basically a bb hose and I'm not terribly worried about accuracy.

Awesome man! Well either way it is a great looking gun and sounds like a blast on the field.

That's a great looking weapon. Have you considered getting one of those telescopic stocks?

Nope. The battery fits in the stock currently (and is massive). If I switched to a lipo I could possibly adjust the stock a bit. Right now it's kind of awkward to get my head into position to see through the scope. I may simply ditch the scope.

Played with it a bit last weekend, it is actually a pretty great weapon. ROF is good, accuracy isn't bad (the hop up is WAY off, but I haven't adjusted it at all yet), and loading wasn't as problematic as I thought it would be.

The scope actually worked pretty well too. It's quick-release, and works well when guarding a position. When I'm expecting action, I'll pull the scope off and go by the iron sights.

I would suggest getting rid of the stock bipod and getting a grippod. It makes handling that best so much more pleasant.

Knock offs are cheaper than the real deal.(real deal is $150+)
