Re: Military Photos
Well it's not an MG4 even if the place you got the pic from said it was... MG42/MG3s are the only ones with those stocks, even the 5.56 Ameli doesn't have the stock... unless it's been a rather recent development for the Ameli.Vesper wrote: Close but no cigar, gentlemen.![]()
So the only other one I can think of that has that type of stock is the Steyr MG 30, which doesn't even have the same receiver as that gun.

A hint:
It's an Austrian military's replacement machine gun for MG42.
It fires 7.62x51mm cartridge.

Re: Military Photos
I honestly don't remember, I found it on another forum, in a thread asking if shemaghs were used in the military, and a guy posted that picture, and said it was him and a buddy in Afghanistan.Vesper wrote: What kind of soldiers...??![]()

Re: Military Photos
Judging by the 1st ID patch, IR Flag and dirty ACU I would say they are United States Soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division...
Lots of "non-regulation" equipment is used in theatre. For example, I have a Marine buddy who has pictures of him and his platoon mates defending a position in their silkies (Marine Corps PT shorts).
