Re: Latest Acquisition
Its a split type gearbox. It's pretty strong, but I did just crack the one in my main PSG, after a very long time running at 600 FPS. I have no idea how many rounds. So I've been collecting the gearbox shells as replacements. I happened to get 3 whole additional gearboxes with this gun
Its a snipers gearbox. Elongated cylinder for more volume, mechanical precocking for instant trigger response and consistency... and the split type makes it very easy to work on. Oh, the charging handle pushes the air nozzle back and loads a BB. Its also electric blow back.

Re: Latest Acquisition
I remember seeing on some forum somewhere, that you made your own AR latch? I could be wrong, did you ever get that metal body for it?

Re: Latest Acquisition
So, I've got a metal body on the way for my main one, the one with the rails and silencer. And that one has a custom steel AR latch in it.
The one I just got in, pictured, has a TGS steel AR latch in it (and I got a spare with all those lose parts).
The TGS steel AR latch is an aftermarket part... that is like, the most impossible to find for a PSG-1. The AR latch is what bears the load of the precocked spring and piston while the system is waiting to fire. There is a way to de-cock the gun, but obviously when you are mid game, you want to be ready to fire, so its precocked. So, take the stock pot metal TM one, and put the load of a compressed 500 or 600fps spring on it.. they tend to break. And when that part fails, you don't have a working PSG-1 anymore.
So ... steel ones are nice, and highly desired (among the what, 2% of airsofters that own a PSG-1? ... and then the other fraction of PSG-1 owners that actually field the gun)

Re: Latest Acquisition
Didn't the company that makes the TGS AR latch stop making them?

Re: Latest Acquisition
The company is TGS. I have no idea what else they make. The part has been out of stock everywhere as long as I've ever been looking at PSG-1s. There are many PSG parts that are no longer in production.

It is not the camo, or the gun that make a good player. its the skill, and team work from the man behind those things.
