Save your money and buy a mount for the aimpoint instead.  AFG is a waste of money on that set up.

Why would you say that?

Among other things, the choice to leave the front handguards there. You can grip standard M4 handguards comfortably with a high "supination" posture. At least in my experience, AFGs are most useful on longer rifles with rails.

Don't need big hands or a long gun, I love mine.

Maybe a magpul VFG then?

I'll probably get the AFG, and If I don't like it on the M4, I'll put it on the 416.

If you put on MOE handguards, that would be fine. I personally prefer the Tango Down stubby VFGs over the MagPul grips.

That being said, these are all going on a toy. In the end, it's entirely up to you!

I remember how Henry said that if you put a red dot on a riser with a retractable stock, it's harder to use because of the low cheek rest. Should I get a CTR stock sniper cheek rest? If so, high or low profile?

Mistake #1: Listening to Dom!

A cowitness mount would put the red dot at the same vertical position as your existing ironsights. You hardly need a cheek rest to use those, and you won't need a cheek rest to use a cowitnessed red dot.

I said that about them IF you have a rail riser that adds an extra inch or so ABOVE the ironsights Steevo, not about all mounts or mounts without risers ;).

And revised again...

I do realize the pointlessness of this which is why I'm seeing if I can get a QD aimpoint mount. If not, It'll be this. It'll be unique, that's for sure.

If you do set it up like that, at least take a hacksaw to the carry handle mount.
