I was at the Escue fields last weekend when my G&G quit on me. It was pretty obvious that it was the piston. So I ordered a new SHS piston, and when it got here today, i took apart my gearbox. Now ive seen stripped pistons, but ive never seen this. Lol why would this have happened?

Broke because of improper Angle of Engagement.
I'm stealing your pictures.
They're good.

It was like that way stock. AoE doesn't change unless it's been changed improperly. From a stock gun, it will have stock AoE. Stock AoE is Always improper and will result in a failure eventually.
AoE can decay if you use improper items to fix it. Certain foams or padding can degrade over time, resulting in bad AoE. You can use better materials, or don't use shock absorbing materials to fix your AoE if you want to avoid the problem.

These pictures are great. But that is some NASTY incorrect AoE. But, its an easy repair, another reason why not to get the new KWA CQRs, that breaks, no parts

I'm no KWA fanboy, but by that logic you might as well not buy any KWA rifle.

There's no kill switch on awesome!

It's not nasty incorrect AoE, most G&G guns actually have fairly decent AoE stock. This is just something that happens, regardless of the gun.
KWAs can take after market pistons without modification. Of All the various problems with KWAs, they can, at least, get after market pistons.
The pictures are good because they are real. That's not quite something that's easily replicable, having a piston break quite like that. It makes for a good example when I don't have pictures of that kind on file.
