BlackTower : June 12 = Operation DOMINO - now with a map!
Re: June 12th : OP DOMINO! map & info
Good question!
There will be many surprises throughout the day. The US forces will be held to rules of engagement similar to the real forces in Vietnam... ie:
Here is a morning start for Saturday the 12th!
Taken from the scenario: Held down in Valley of Doom....
"
US Forces are restricted from crossing the Mekong river
Patrols of up to five men may move up and down (but never cross) the US held side of the river
US Forces may fire across the river but cannot cross the river
US Forces are not to utilize any bridges but may position themselves within the banks of the river (both banks may be used)
US Forces may not enter Cambodia
NVA Forces are allowed unrestricted movement on either side of the river and into Cambodia!!"
Hope that helps to understand the sort of engagements... special orders will be given to NVA groups for sneak attacks and deep strikes... while US forces will have truck/helicopter lifts deep in to enemy territory! Many US options, such as patrols will be allowed only is small groups, evenly spaces... giving each soldier the isolation and fear factor so common to that conflict. While ronin, rogue, and highly dangerous groups of North Vietnamese will be set loose on the countryside!
Choose your side well and look to your commanders for special instructions and point scoring objectives!

What happens if some Americans go rogue (read: noobs cross the river)? Do they get called out by a ref, or simply play as usual and eventually die in a hail of plastic?

There's no kill switch on awesome!

Re: June 12th : OP DOMINO! map & info
Unfortunately, I cannot come to this game, but I should be able to come to the game on July 10th.

Re: June 12th : OP DOMINO! map & info
We have 5 permanent reffs for this event... so I hope to keep things easy and simple.
Some of the missions will definitely need the maps! lol
And yes... expect lots of death in a hail of bullets. oh yes!

Hiya IronChef,
To be honest we will have to see... if someone does show up with a perfect kit.

Who are the commanders for this OP? I volunteer to lead the NVA if necessary.

I taste how that would feel
Re: June 12th : OP DOMINO! map & info
Dominum will be the US CO, and I believe Tanker will be the NVA CO.

Two people from the same team will be opposing commanders in an OP?SteevoLS wrote: Dominum will be the US CO, and I believe Tanker will be the NVA CO.
That doesn't make any sense...
