Again, if we are going with the norm, then yes. Prisoners could be rescued if their teammates killed their captors and then re-healed them.

Exactly. That is assuming Garrett is doing it the same way it usuall is done, a la OP WN. Self escaping tends to cause more issues than it's worth, including unwanted melee.

i think we should allow self escaping if you can somehow conceal a weapon on you....i think the opposing team should be able to search you through questioning and take any gun that is in plain sight....if you manage to conceal a training knife and strike each of your captors before they shoot you then you are escaped......thats how i would do it anyway...unfortunately im no game rep/mod

It's up to Garrett for this game, but IMO it wouldn't be worth the trouble it would cause. Lots of times people would end up trying to knock guns out of each others' hands, etc. and it would lead to physically tying people up. It would lead to too much physical confrontation to be of any good.

yea...i just had a vision of someone cuttin off my circulation...or better yet, no one in my squad having a knife and me having to go all the way back to camp to get free....

There will be no disarming or taking anyone's gun.  You simply have to remove your mag from your gun when you are a prisoner.

I agree with Gambler. Here is how I see it going down. You get shot, and the shooter comes over and does what to you before you are a hostage? He medics you.. We could do something simple like before he medics you, he ask you to remove your mag. Same as taking your gun. Now you wouldn't be able to just slap the mag back in and shoot. But if you had a side arm, you could use it if you got a chance. Now he could also ask you to remove your side arms mag too. Problem solved.
