Date: December 19th, 2009
Time: 9:00 A.M. - 5:30 P.M.
Location: Aiken S.C. (see below for google maps)
Price: $5 a person
First, I realize that there is a Triggertyme game the day after. You may camp at the Blue Hole if you are planning on going to that game after this one.
Scenario:
Two teams-Attacker & Defender
The Attacking Team is going to have half of its team "captured" at game start. They will be split into five locations. They save them the same way you "medic revive" someone. Treat it as though you are cutting the rope that holds them (there is no rope, just pretend there is. I figure it would be better if I don't tie people up). The locations where the captured people will be held at will be at the Dam, the Dead Woods, Fort Graveyard, the Tire Fort, and the Ravine. Rescued team members can join the fray once freed.
Another objective is to get the briefcase at the village opened. You cannot move the briefcase from the village. You have to take the village from the defenders (should they choose to defend it), and hold it until you can figure out the combination. The combination will be hidden in few math problems. Figure out the math problems and will get the combination to the briefcase. There won't be anything in the briefcase for you to grab. You just need to open it. (Think of it as though you are deactivating a bomb)
The third and final objective will be to capture the flag located in the Al-Qaeda Caves (the place of the Last Stand at the Border War last year). Once captured, you will have to bring it to the Junk Fort.
Obviously, the Defending Team job is to stop the Attackers from doing all this. After one game we break for lunch, and then we swap sides and do it again. Each game will be about 3 hours long. More than enough time (in theory). Should both games somehow end early, we will be making up games on the spot.
The Defending team will be placed on the field early so that they can get into positions. The Attacking team will start off the field.
Medics & Respawns:
Everyone is a medics. You heal by having both hands on person for 30 seconds. You can be healed once then you must respawn. You can wait for a medic for three to ten minutes. After three minutes, you may walk back to a respawn if you wish, after ten, you must walk to a respawn. If you choose to respawn instead of be medvive or if you have already be revived once and must respawn this time, you can walk to a respawn point before you three minute bleedout is up. However, you must be dead for three minutes before you can respawn. (This is a bit complicated, I know, but, as many of you know, the whole respawn thing is always a difficult concept to tackle at the Blue Hole).
The Defenders will have their respawn points at the fort in the Dead Woods, a trench in a hill near the village, Fort Graveyard on top of the Hornet's Nest, and in the Al-Qaeda Caves. All of these areas are subject to combat. If an area that you are trying to respawn in is currently a combat zone, and the fight seems like as though it will not be settled in a few moments, and it is not feasible for you to travel to another respawn point, then you may move to a safer area that is not too far away when trying to come back in. You can't travel too far, and you can't respawn someplace where you can see enemies. within shooting range (for your gun) There are plenty of locations at each base where you can do this. The Attackers have their respawns off the field so they don't have anything to worry about.
Camo:
For right now,
Alpha-Green
Bravo-Tan
I will put colors together to try to keep teams even. If you come with people you want to stay with for the day, then wear the same camo.
The rest of the rules are standard.
Age:
Free age event (I think that is the term I am looking for) Parents will need to play with kids under 13.
Tips:
1) The Attacking team will have a respawn point on the other end of the Dead Woods, but they will not start there.
2) For the Defending team, you need to select you battles carefully. You won't be able to defend everything. You can certainly delay them, but you won't always stop them. Choose where you want to make your last stand and fight to slow the enemy down until then.
3) Even though the Attackers will start at half strength, the Defenders will want to spread themselves out a very large playing field. This helps even things out a bit. However, as each objective is completed, the Defenders will converge into one area. You will want to try to lure them into the area where you want to make the final assault.
4) This in not going to be easy for either side. Good plans, good communication, good logistics, and good tactics will be key here.
5) These are three hour games. You have lots of time (in theory). Therefore, you should conserve you strength. Take it easy for the end is bound to be bigger than the beginning.
6) Keep in mind that fresh troops should come in for both sides. The Attackers get fresh troops when they rescue part of their team. The Defenders get fresh troops because not everyone of their troops probably won't be fighting, but rather defending.
7) Remember, the playing field is large
Cool Overall, you are here to have fun. This is a game, but if you have a good time, you win.
For captured team members, I will ask for volunteers the day of the game. If no one or not enough volunteers, then I will have to randomly select the people.
Again, those who also plan on playing at Triggertyme may camp at the Blue Hole so they can leave for it the next morning (for some, I imagine it would make it a shorter trip). If you do plan on playing at Triggertyme, remember to bring enough money for that game as well as some extra batteries and ammo.
I hope you guys come, and I hope you guys enjoy it!
