All players must wear ANSI-approved glasses or goggles! Close engagements are somewhat rare at Blue Hole, but use common sense when choosing safety gear. Those under 18 are encouraged to wear full seal goggles and a shemagh or equivalent. Under 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Airsoft bb's are not the only danger here, LOOK before you LEAP. We will have a waiver posted before the game.
Because this is a sort of "welcome back" game, things will probably be more relaxed. However, obvious violations of posted rules or common sense will be dealt with swiftly. FPS rules will be posted some time later.
Operation Guardian background: Groups of terrorists along the Afghanistan border are becoming restless. Attacks begin on poverty stricken villages just inside the borders.Their leader is believed to be Rashad Majhed. Afghan leaders say that they have been trying to capture this man for almost a decade, and they would be eternally grateful to anyone who could help bring a stop to the matter. Local military police have been called in to secure the area, but their efforts prove futile. A hasty evacuation follows, and the villages are soon overtaken. To prevent further violence, US forces are sent in with orders to eliminate any threats in the area and train local guerrillas to maintain the peace.
Bravo/Tan will play the US forces, Alpha/Green will play the terrorists. Standard uniform guidelines apply.
The game will center around the newly landscaped area and what we affectionately call Patton Hill. There will be at least a little hoofing it between the two areas, so come prepared. At this point, we are thinking about playing the scenario through twice, with a role reversal the second day (Bravo playing terrorists, Alpha playing US). We think there are enough twists to keep the game going for most of the day, leaving time for a few twilight and possibly night games. Each squad will get one medic. That medic can heal each individual player two times. After that, the player must go to re-spawn point. After being shot player must lay dead until the medic comes, if medic does not come in 15 min the player can go to their re-spawn point.
A note to our newer players (read: The last 18 months or so)
Blue Hole is an old quarry near Aiken. It's the closest you can get to a desert in this part of the country. It's definitely one of the most unique fields in the Southeast. If you've never been there, you owe it to yourself to come out and play. If you have been there already, you don't need any convincing to come out again!
The "blue hole" (being drained right now)

Looking the opposite direction (this place is BIG)

Lots of close up fighting in the craggy areas

... but just as much open ground

View from the opposite side
