Blue Hole - Sat. July 23rd
Posted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 1:20 pm
Due to the excessive heat, this will not be a large scenario game in any way, shape, or form. The plan is this:
Field Fee: $10
Camping available Friday night; gates should be open around 6:30-7:00 PM.
8:00 AM - try to be there
9:00 AM - chrono and registration opens
10:00 AM - safety briefing
10:?? AM - 12PM - Game #1
12PM - 1PM - Break for lunch
1PM-3PM - Game #2
3PM - 4PM - Break
4PM - 6PM - Game #3
... and so on and so forth. The goal here is to have multiple, short games with plenty of breaks in the middle. Nobody wants to be out there for 6 or 7 hours when it's 100 degrees outside, but with plenty of water almost anybody can last for 2 hours with a 1 hour break in between each game.
PLEASE do not drive all the way from Atlanta (or Florida, or Virginia, or...) if you are expecting any sort of scenario. This game will be organized and have at least one non-playing admin at any point in time, but it won't be a major "op" like some were expecting last time. If anything, I would come to this game so you can get to know the field a little better. There will be a large game at Blue Hole in the fall that you won't want to miss.
Game #1:
~25% of players - Faction A: You will be inserted before the other faction. A single member of your faction will be considered a HVT for the other faction. If this player is killed, the game is over. The only objective for your faction is to defend this player against overwhelming odds. Blue Hole offers many excellent choke points and strongholds; for a competent group, this should be feasible.
~75% of players - Faction B: After the first team has time to set up, you will enter the field. All you have to do is find and eliminate the HVT.
This scenario could take all morning, or 20 minutes. In the event that it doesn't take very long, we'll juggle the factions around and run it again. Ideally a single team would take the role of Faction A, since they would (in theory) already mesh well and be able to work together. The HVT will be armed, but will have no respawns or heals available. Everybody else will follow standard AOSC medic rules.
