-Scenario-

Gorbachev finally attacked not through the Atlantic, but through the Alaskan home front. The United States can't have that, the Alaskan resources are too important to be lost to the soviets. President Reagan sends his Alaskan Guard to stop these soviet invaders and keep a foothold in Alaska. Hopefully keeping its resources with it, and not provoking a nuclear war.

*Conquer the territory and maintain control
*Protect or gain precious resources
*Keep the soviet invaders out of Alaska,while protecting is precious resources. (US)
*Defend the resources
*Gain control over Alaska and its resources (RU)
*Maintain peace within its borders
