Siege Airsoft – Valkyrie
July 30th, 2016
Valkyrie Airsoft Field:

264 Refiner Cir Summerville, SC 29483

Regular Valkyrie Skirmish: Free
Siege Airsoft hostage rescue mission: $5 per person

Organize a team to take on the AOSC’s first direct action mission! Teams will sign up for time slots throughout the day Saturday. Each team will be tasked with rescuing hostages from the Valkyrie Kill House and will be up against Valkyrie’s own playing as the opposition force. Your team will have to breach doors, engage the opfor, render first aid to the hostages, and then escort the hostages out of the area. After a team has completed the mission the opfor and hostages will reset and the next team will take a crack at the rescue.

All AOSC rules apply with the following exceptions:

20’ Minimum Engagement Distance (MED) guns are now 0’ MED. Any gun shooting 360 FPS with .25g BBs will be allowed to engage enemy at any distance. All guns are restricted to Semi-automatic ONLY. Full face protection is HIGHLY recommended. As always, if you are under 18, full face protection is MANDITORY.

THIS RULE CHANGE IS IN EFFECT FOR THE HOSTAGE RESCUE MISSION ONLY. All AOSC rules stand unchanged during normal skirmish games that day.

During the Siege Airsoft event, Valkyrie will be holding normal skirmish games on the opposite end of the field. If you want to participate in Siege Airsoft, it will cost $5 per person. If you have a team ready, you can sign up for a time slot of your choosing as soon as everyone is paid and at the field. If you are a lone wolf, we can find a team that needs an extra player or bring together a group of single players to form a team. The remainder of the day, including the normal Valkyrie skirmish, is free as always.

Valkyrie takes donations that go directly into improving the field. If you enjoy playing at Valkyrie, give back to them so they can continue to build and expand. The AOSC is proud to support Valkyrie. All fees collected for the Siege Airsoft Event will go directly into the Valkyrie field budget, not only to make Siege Airsoft a reality, but to improve the field for future games.

FAQ:

Q: How many players can be on a team?
A: Between 3 and 6 players are allowed on a team. You will be matched in number by opfor to even the difficulty for smaller or larger teams.

Q: So I don't HAVE to do the hostage rescue thing?
A: You can play all day for free like any other Valkyrie skirmish day, but it costs $5 to participate in the Siege Airsoft hostage rescue mission and is completely optional.

Q: Can I sign up or pay online before the event?
A: To avoid having teams that aren’t ready the day of, we will be ensuring that the entire team is present on the field before allowing them to pay and sign up for a time slot.

Q: Where do we go when it’s our turn to run the mission?
A: There will be an obviously marked mission briefing station that your team must go to before mission start. Make sure your team is 100% prepared before your sign up time. If your team is currently playing a normal skirmish game, your team will be pulled from the game and sent to the mission briefing.

Q: Can I bring my (insert breaching tool of choice) to knock down some doors?
A: No. Breaching tools will be provided to you during the mission briefing.

Q: What about grenades?
A: Innocent hostages can be killed. Use them at risk. During this event, Thunder B grenades may be used as flash bangs without lethal effect. If you put BBs into the Thunder B, or your grenade throws BBs, everyone in the room that the grenade goes off in is dead.

Q: Is there a time limit on the mission?
A: You have 30 minutes to complete your objective, any longer and the mission is considered failed and the next team is brought in.

Q: Do I need medical equipment to deal with the hostages?
A: Any medical equipment you may need will be provided during the mission briefing.

Q: What are bleed out and medic rules?
A: When hit, you must kneel or sit in place. If a team mate cannot reach you within 5 minutes, you will are dead and must remove yourself from play. Everyone will be given two medic bandages that another live player can revive you with. After those two bandages are used and you are hit again, you are dead and must remove yourself from play. Live team mates can drag wounded team mates around. But the wounded player must stay in a sitting or kneeling position while being moved.

Q: Will my team have time to plan/dry run/recon the target building?
A: Only if you attend the field before game day. Your team will have a few minutes directly after the mission briefing and before you begin the mission to plan.

Q: Where is all the mission information?
A: Any information you need to complete the mission will be given during the briefing. Hostage situations happen very suddenly and not a lot of time is usually allowed for intel gathering before action is needed. Same goes for this scenario.
