AOSC GDT (General Discussion Thread)

If it's not airsoft related, then put it here.

Reasons I don't take anything you just said seriously:

- Airsofters wear full gear and uniforms all day long and think they're cool (whether or not their family has a military legacy)
- You typed out an entire sentence to say you were too lazy to fix one typo.

Ok but why would you wear ACU all day for no reason? And it's like 100 degrees.

Something lots of people don't seem to realize is that if you wear long sleeves and long pants and keep them on even when it's hot, your sweat will function as natural air conditioning. It's soaked up by the cloth and in turn cools your body.

... or then again he might just be a wannabe military super specops spetznaz green beret sealopz marine.

Steevo speaks the truth, look at the ancent cultures that live in hot climates. They aren't runing around naked, they are usually completely covered in long sleeves, some sort of head gear etc. Keeping the sun off your skin does wonders for keeping you cool.

now there are much better garmets to wear than full ICU's to keep you cool but whatever, to each their own...
Say what you want, think what you want, it won't change the fact that AJAX will do what we want, when we want, including roll the ____ over you.

fine print: sometimes I'm serious and post middle of the ground statements based on logic, other times I will post something absurd just to point out the sheer lunacy of someone's opinion. Other times I may post something directed specifically at another forum member just to be a smartass. Don't take it personally, it's all in good fun.

Romba wrote:There was a guy at my summer camp last week who wore full ACU's all week. When someone asked him about it his excuse was that it "keeps him cool." He said his dad and grandfather were green berets, so obviously he was somewhat of a wannabe. Just thought that is was strange considering me, in shorts and a tee short, sweat horribly.
There was someone like this at my summer camp also, it is one thing to wear full camo while playing airsoft, but to wear full uniform with a load carrying vest loaded with random cooking stuff all week is a little overdoing it. and it was a 102 degrees in the shade according to the thermometer.

Also fixed your typo.

Wait, was he wearing the fatigues or the fatigues plus a complete loadout?

For some reason races with higher melanin content are the exception to Sev's statement. That has always confused me a bit, but I guess it has something to do with the differences in their genes. Maybe higher melanin means less heat transfer through radiation.

A few years ago, I hand sewed a magazine pouch for my MP-40 mags (http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj30 ... =open2.jpg). I used ACU/UCP just because that was what they had at Walmart. If only they would have had this cloth instead ---> http://cgi.ebay.com/G-I-Joe-Camouflage- ... 19c729c34b .
