So I put my computer up on craigslist, and I got an email back asking if I still had it. Replying yes, I got an email back about 10 min later saying the following:
"Thanks for the reply,i am buying the item for my son who study oversea,so i want you to ship the item to him,I will pay $150 for the shipping cost,I am a member of the united states marine corps(USMC)i would have preferred to make this cash payment but i am out of the state presently so get back to me with your PayPal email account so i can pay into your account now, hope to hear from you asap."
Not sure what to think on this one. All the one's I've ever seen were saying "I'll mail you a personal check, blah blah blah". Does this one seem legit to you guys?

Re: Possible Craigslist Scam?
Yea, this is a pretty common craigslist scam. I had a similar version(minus the USMC addition) when I tried to sell my PS3. Because of the way Paypal does its stuff, the buyer has more protection than the seller. In this case, what they do is claim to paypal that the thing they get is not the thing that you advertised, they get the money returned, keep the product and you get shafted. Theres a few mentions of it on some websites, I remember hearing about it on hackforums when that was popular.
Always remember, When it sounds too good to be true on the internet(in this case 150 bucks) it is. If it isnt, Murphy's Law would apply and you would still somehow get screwed.

I would just say you can't take Paypal and ask for a money order. If they're real they can send a Moneygram online (if they can do Paypal).

Yep, figured. Got a text from some guy saying he was on board in a ship and that he'd send me 150 for shipping. Needless to say, I'm not doing it, haha.
Sent the other dude an email asking for USPS Money order instead, but he said no, and so did I.

most of the hot chicks on craigslist are actually dudes/fat chicks. you're likely to end up in a motel 6 bath tub without a kidney. it's a pretty common scam.
