Anthony, Felix is right about that.

it came with that spring in it. i think the gearbox was a lemon. i only went through 600ish rounds. also, it was just the right combination of fps and bb weight that made it extremely accurate.
is the game MAG a mmofps? cause, it's a first person shooter and in quite a few game modes, it has 260ish players in an online game.

It came with that spring in it because some companies like to throw as a hard a spring as their AEG can handle for a short time in something in order to market to people who think FPS is what it's all about. A pot metal V2 shell can only take so much without help, it was probably not a lemon. FPS and BB weight have nothing at all to do with accuracy except countering wind resistance. Specter, you need to accept that people who have been working on and playing with airsoft guns a lot longer than you may actually have a bit more knowledge concerning them.

yeah. I just know that it was accurate and hurt like crazy. it's a good gun. i like mine better now than I did back then. now i can shoot people point blank. it's much more embarassing safety killing people though so i'll stick with that.

hmmm, so....... anyway I could use steel bbs at Blue Hole? I've got a new project.... I'd be willing to take a 200ft MED if necessary, and still follow the regular fps limits, aka, not higher than 560fps with a .25.

No offense but I wouldn't play if you used steel BB's.

Insurance companies will not allow anything other than a plastic projectile. I honestly don't know if Blue Hole itself is insured, but the AOSC itself will not allow anything other than the standard.

There's no kill switch on awesome!

Sorry, but metals are too cohesive, they are too likely to penetrate rather than break on impact at accidental close range shots.

eh, I know I won't be able to use them, but I want to argue this point. Plastic bbs only break at very close ranges, ranges well with MEDs, unless of course you are using very, very low quality bbs, aka, .12s. Past this point, metal and plastic bbs have the same properties. The metal bbs will be heavier, but would have the same properties as a plastic bb that weighs the same as the metal bb.

My point is that an accidental shot at close range is considerably more dangerous with a metal BB as opposed to a polystyrene one. So, even assuming they had the same properties at longer ranges (which they don't, but for the sake of argument I won't belabor it further, so I'll cede you that) my reasoning behind not allowing them still stands on my previous argument.

Yeah, it's fine. I knew the answer before I asked the question. I know what they can do compared to "normal" bbs. I just like bringing up the possibilities whenever I start thinking about extreme ranges.
I bring it up because I'm starting a new project with my L85. We'll see how it goes.
