Does anyone know a ballpark estimate of how many shots you could get out of something like a 62/3000 tank(with a polarstar)? I'm seriously looking into one.

A quick rule of thumb would be about 1500 shots out of a 62/3000. It really depends on what PSI you set the regulator at. Once you have that determined then you can calculate the precise number of shots.

To calculate this use the following equation Tank size multiplied by tank PSI divided by PSI for P* or in numbers 62*3000/PSI per shot (186,000/120=1,550).

Hopefully this helps.

Also if you are running a dual reg set up you can drop your PSI to around 50 and install the red nozzle. Voila sub 400 fps (based on barrel length) and you just nearly tripled how many shots you can get off of one tank.

If you get a P* and don't know much about them get the Polarizwd app it can help a lot. It also has nice features like ROF calculator and can save settings.

What if I'm not using a dual rig? Could I still use the red nozzle, lower the psi, and save air?

Yes lowering the FPS whatever the setup will extend the # of shots. With a standard HPA regulator you will not have the ability with as much precision to lower the FPS. The best savings in air is using either a dual rig as 2nd Ranger suggests, or get a SLP tank and a SLP regulator, which is the set up I have. Either one accomplishes the same effect. The dual rig setup cost more than the SLP regulator, but the SLP tanks cost a little more so in the end the cost is about the same.

Well my tank is not an SLP. It's a 90 4500, so it's pretty expensive... I was going to buy a dual regulator, but shortyusa was out, so I just got the redline sold on evike for $175. Anyone know where else I can get a dual regulator?

Just buy a ARX20 for $20 from amped. There you go it is a dual reg now. I would also suggest some flexi line to upgrade from the macro line. I used to get airleaks with the macro line if it got twisted or pulled to far. The flexi line fixed that. It is also on amped.

Do I still need the 2 fittings and the gauge like it says? And how much flexi line do you think I should need? I'll be running the tank in my hydration pack on my plate carrier.

I would get what it says to just to be safe, as for how much flexi line I would recommend 3 ft minimum. If you get more, which I would do, just run it through the MOLLE on your vest.

Thanks, you've saved me a lot of time and money! I though I was going to have to sell my brand new regulator...

Use these guys. I have purchased hundreds of velcro patches through them and have always been happy with the pricing, stitch quality, coloring, and turnaround time.
