So, who else is addicted to MineCraft?

If it's not airsoft related, then put it here.

So, who else is addicted to MineCraft?

Post by Dominum » Wed Jan 12, 2011 7:35 pm

Steevo got me into it, and so far I know JrLeonard is also into it. We play on a freebuild server, one of the safer and more popular ones. I even got my wife into and I find her mining for diamonds in the middle of the night LOL.

If you want to get on the server with us, that'd be awesome. I am founding a city with another guy on there, and am looking for trustworthy people (people I already know aren't griefers, like you guys) to help finish the infrastructure to found the city and then inhabit it. I have already finished the exterior of the centerpiece, a 64 tall pyramid of cobble 100% covered in flowing lava. I have built the center run of the roads almost completely, and have run the entire scaffolding for the soon-to-be massive lava walls. The roads need to be widened, some places need to be cleared, and then the walls need to be finished. Afterwords, those who helped with the founding significantly will be rewarded free plots, those who helped a little will get them at a discount. The city is laid out symmetrically and with much larger plots than almost all the others I've seen, so it is poised to become one of the more impressive on the server. If you want to help, shoot me a PM or post here.

I am game! Obviously... Thanks for the mention Dom... Like he said, it is definitely one of the safer servers and the people on there are great. I have interacted with the mods on a good note and they were always helpful.

Yep, and they weed out the bad ones quick. Just remember to read and follow the rules, like everywhere else in life if you do come to help us. They are not as forgiving for rule violations as we are.

I may end up coming on there to help you guys. But my addiction has me locked to my own server, so we'll see. Good luck with the town!

For future reference guys you must go to the official Minecraft website and purchase the beta.

You purchase it over the internet for ~$20, then you download it. The benefit is you get it instantly, you can download and play it on any computer you want as many times as you want, and it comes with free and automatic game updates.

Link to buy and/or learn about: http://minecraft.net/

You will not get junk email, spam, etc. It may look simple, but you would be amazed at what you can do with it! My money was very well spent.

I play it, and I know Adam does.

My username is DWolf_ACTUAL

Here's my SP world. I also play on an MP server with a couple of my friends.

Image

In this picture, you can see my wall. It has a gate that has a set of double doors that all open at the same time. It uses an incredibly complicated redstone circuit that I made myself. You can also see my extremely tall observation tower, my worshop, my foundry, my garden, and my main mine entrance, although there are many other mine entrances scattered around the map. Then, there's my volcano that houses my nether portal. I have literally miles of tunnels that go all underneath the lake and beyond.

Just to give you guys an idea of what MINECRAFT is, here are two videos.

This is a fan-made trailer.

And here is one of a guy building the Enterprise

Building Megaobjects in Minecraft

I gotta say that last video impressed the hell outta me.

Very nice trailer, though that is just the beginning of what can be done with this game.

Nice DW, any chance you'll want to help me out and found a city?

I play Minecraft, have a life, and only spend a FRACTION of the time on it that Henry does. Heck, his wife plays it more than me. :P

VanillaCraft is the server we play on. No sense in hiding the name.
